Open house

Andrea, on March 23, 2017 at 12:34 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

Hello everyone, I need help! I recently got in contact with a venue FH and I are really interested in, to do a tour and ask questions. The owner of the venue told me that they would be having an open house on April 1st from 12-4. I've never been to an open house, so I'm wondering if we need to be there at 12 or is it okay to show up after 12? And also do we need to stay all 4 hours? Help! please and thank you Smiley smile

Usually an open house means you show up anytime between the open hours (although I would recommend no later than 20 minutes before the end, maybe earlier depending on the size of the venue) and stay as long as you want/need to see the venue and have any questions you have answered.

Short notice I know, but I'd see if you could schedule a walk-through prior to the open house. You'd be guaranteed more individualized attention, and I'd hate to be in potential competition with other brides for your date.

And to answer your question, open houses (whether its for venues or to check out a potential future home) are a span of time that you can walk in and check the place out. There's no requirement to stay the full time. In this instance, if you do wait for the open house I'd suggest getting there earlier rather than later to increase your chances of snagging your date if you love it, or saving the rest of your day for other things if you don't
