My fiancé and I are doing an open bar but he wants to just do beer and wine to save some money. I’m not really for it cause not everyone drinks beer or wine and I think it’s kind of cheap. We need some help deciding what to do

People will drink whatever you have.. if you have a cash option for liquor and they really want it they will pay for it. if it is in your budget to do a full open bar then do so. it really depends on your crowd and you budget. we did beer wine and champagne. everyone loved it. some decided to pay for liquor but not one person complained.

We did beer, wine, and a signature sangria! It definitely is cheaper and depending where you get your beer and wine, the vendor will allow you to return anything unopened! Our guests didn’t have a problem with it at all! We had 5 different beers and 3 different wines! We also had sweet tea, lemonade, water, coke, sprite, and Diet Coke!

I think beer and wine is appropriate, we are not doing open bar at all as it is not in our budget. BUT if we could I would probably take the route of beer and wine, guests will appreciate the gesture and I think most adults drink beer or wine and if not they’d be ok with paying for their own drink.

We didn’t do an open Full bar becuz we didn’t want people getting wasted. we just did beer, wine and 2 signature drinks - Mojito and Moscow Mules. If the liquor went with whatever mixers they had that the bartenders could make then yeah that was great. It wasn’t expensive. We had about 115 people actually show up out of the 137 that rsvp’ed. SO whatever alcohol wasn’t used/opened we returned :-)
