Open bar options

Ana, on June 1, 2019 at 1:14 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Ok so we are having an open bar but buying our own alcohol. What do we buy? Not how much I have got that figured out but we are not drinkers so if you can help me out with what I need to buy that would be great 👍. What are you offering?
Thanks

I would ask your bartender to help with a shopping list based on what/how many drink options you’ll be offering.

Caytlyn has a good suggestion. I've also heard a general rule of thumb is to have, at minimum, 1 clear liquor (like vodka) and 1 dark (like whiskey), along with maybe 2 beer options (1 light and 1 dark) and a red wine (merlot or cabernet sauvignon are usually popular) and 1 white wine (pinot grigio and chardonnay are 2 popular choices there as well). When in doubt though, always ask the professional!

What would be so fun is if you and your groom come up with a drink you each like most and offer it as like the drink of the night - groom fave and brides fave and then figure out what the ingredients for those are

We're buying our own too, we're keeping it pretty basic, regular beer, lite beer, some champagne for the toasts, and a couple kinds of liquor for mixing. I know his family and i'm sure they'll definitely being doing some BYOBing too. I'm fine with that.
