Open bar, cash bar, buffet, or plated meals

I am really stuck with wanting to have a open bar for my family and friends but my husband to be says cash bar would be more effective. Also since Covid happens I want to serve plated meals rather than the buffet style.

Cash bar is a big no no. Open bar for sure. You don't have to have tons of options. Beer and wine only is totally fine. the plated vs buffet doesn't really matter I don't think.

I think beer and wine is more than adequate. People will drink what’s there. You could always do a cash bar for liquor though. But cash bars are generally considered rude.
