OOT/Hotel Welcome Bags - Contents...what to put inside?

Jillian, on March 4, 2015 at 2:07 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

FH and I have decided we want to do welcome bags at the hotel. We thought the welcome bags would be a little something extra as a thank you. Our closest guests have a hour drive each way, so most people will be staying at the hotel. Here is what I have come up with so far and wanted to know if there was anything specific you would look for in a welcome bag or any ideas of other things I can look into:

1 bag per hotel room:

Welcome card (this serve as a thank you and give some extra info regarding the evening)

2 bottles of water

2 - granola bar

2 - Advil/Tylenol Packets

1 - Shout wipe

handful of mint chocolate candy

Homemade cookies

Things I've seen said to fill categories such as 'salty, sweet, emergency' etc.

I think 2 granola bars and 0 fruit snacks would be better as well, especially since you already have homemade cookies in there.

You could add a letter thanking them for coming and include with some cute local tips in it (like FH and I's favourite breakfast place nearby is the ___). Their hotel will of course have maps etc, but people always love personal recommendations.

Thanks for those suggestions! Most people are coming in the day of the wedding (night wedding, so they will arrive during the day) and leaving the next morning, other than my extended family who have things planned already. We actually don't live in the area we are getting married, so I can't really suggest where they could go haha! We will be provided limo transportation for all guests the night of the wedding, so after getting to the hotel they won't have to travel or do anything on their own, if they don't wish to.

You are baking cookies yourself for your wedding OOT gift bags. You win all gift bags ever. I'm impressed.

I would skip the homemade cookie, only because some people could be weird with food that was not bought wrapped. Personally, I wouldn't care, but there are people out there that may. I would also agree that granola bars vs fruit snacks. also, if it's in an area people may not go to often, or even been there at all, something cute written up, like fun facts or something.

We are doing water/crackers/Fruit/Tylenol and a welcome card in a reusable bag. I also added bug spray wipes since we are getting married outside in June. I would save the time and energy and skip the cookies.

    Can I have one? I can't believe you're making cookies. I'll eat MrsLepelis's cookies.

I tied this tag to the handles of the bag and went off of that. I also made a sign in a picture frame to put on the hotel lobby desk that says "please let us know if you are checking in to celebrate the (her last name/his last name) wedding" that way they remember to hand out the bags

My friend made "Do Not Disturb" signs that said "Shh, We're Recovering From John and Jane's Wedding!" They were super adorable.

Alicia, that sign is really cute!
