OOT guest welcome boxes

Ms. Versace, on May 4, 2015 at 12:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

My coordinator told me that i should make up welcome boxes to be placed in the rooms of OOT guests. Now what would you all put in them??? I have planned to include an attraction list of things in the area and a local map.....but what else??

Typically these have some snacks, water, advil etc! I'm getting married at the bronx zoo so I'm including NYC themed items and yankee themed m&ms since it is FH fav team and play in the bronx! I'm going to include animal crackers for the zoo themed and maybe by style bagel chips along with something chocolate

I'm trying to figure out what to put in mine too, but at another wedding they had welcome tote bags with local attractions, water, candy, a koozy and a pair of sunglasses. They were cute! But I think that the koozies and sunglasses could add up quickly in cost.

My wedding is at a summer resort so we most likely including the summer resorts events for that week (which the resort has printed for every guest already, we just want it slid in), a map, water, chips or candy, band aids, suntan lotion, and playing cards. We are going to shop at the dollar store and BJs and find whats cheap and fits.

Not necessary, but nice. We're going to brown bag it-nothing fancy. 2 granola bars, 2 water bottles, map of the area, some pamphlets of local historical sites/attractions, maybe toothbrush/paste, and thank you note.

Like FMShermister, we're making ours themed for the city, especially since it's a DW (Charleston, SC). We're gonna have tote bags printed up with this image. We're including: Maps and guides from the visitors center (which they'll actually give us for free!), weekend itinerary, bottle of water, aspirin/ibuprofren, local treats (benne wafers, mini bottle of firefly sweet tea vodka, charleston chew candy), hand made palmetto roses and a Spanish fan as a nod to my fiance.

We're doing welcome bags. We're doing water bottles, travel packs of advil, pack of gum, a bag of Utz crab chips and maybe some other snack item. Also, the shuttle schedule and local attractions/restaurants for our OOT guests that might make a weekend of it. I *really* want to do those custom "do not disturb" door tags but we'll see!

In addition to the things already mentioned, I made door hangers that say "shhhh we were partying all night with the new mr & mrs" as well as a little card that has info about the shuttle.

Ours look like this. 2 bottles of water, 1 bottle of Gatorade, Advil, gummy snacks, chips, ring pops, pretzels, and an itinerary for the weekend.

This always seems like a needless effort/expense to me. Thirty bags of what? Maps (everyone has a GPS, and their primary destination is your wedding/reception). Information on where the closest covenience store is (they can get convenience store or food delivery service info by dialing the front desk), menus (the hotel will provide those if they're not in the room somewhere -- which they probably are), and some dollar store stuff? OOT bags are not necessarily. If you really want to do them, add a bottle of something that can be split between two adults (soft drink, a nice sparkling water, or wine...whatever), a box of Godiva chocolates (4 pieces), and a nice, personal welcome note from the bridal couple. If you add a long stemmed, red rose, the female of the two will say, "Ohhh....a red rose and Godiva chocolate! Wow".

I just attended a destination beach wedding. They had bottles of water, his favorite candy, her favorite candy, sunscreen, personalized sunglasses, a wedding program fan and an itinerary of events and locations. Very cute.
