Online Rsvps?

Brittney, on February 4, 2021 at 6:12 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 2 24
So I’ve been toying with the idea of having my guests rsvp online, but I worry about the older guests not being able to figure it out. Has anyone else done online RSVPs through the knot or wedding wire? I like the idea of online because a) it’s quick, b)no chance of getting lost in the Mail, and c) I have a lot of info to cram onto a small RSVP card that having it online would seem simpler. I know it wouldn’t be an issue for 95% of the guest list, but I worry about people like my grandma or my FH’s great aunts not being able to navigate the site/not even having a computer to navigate it. Thoughts?

I had guests RSVP on The Knot, and they were able to figure it out! They were also able to change their RSVP if they needed to. We postponed after we sent out our invites, so we get to sent out invites all over again, but we're definitely planning on having people RSVP online again.

You could always setup a test on The Knot, add just a few guests that you're concerned about, and ask those guests to try to RSVP and give you feedback on whether they were able to easily figure it out.

My brother-in-law and his wife had their guests RSVP online and didn't have any issues and they had a bunch of older guests.

I'm using online rsvps knowing that I'll have to reach out to some of the older folks to get their response. For example I fully expect my grandma to just tell me hey I'm coming and I'll fill out the rsvp for her

Alot of brides here have mentioned offering the option of rsvpify.com for online replies which can be added as a widget to your withjoy/wix.com site and totally customizeable. Also providing paper rsvp card and email plus phone for calls and text replies so they can reach you any way that is convenient.

I had JUST sent out our physical invites on Friday and our digital invites yesterday (we did a small lot of paper invites for closer family like parents, God parents, aunts etc). Majority of our guests are 50+ years old and we already have most of the digital invite people RSVP.
We used Greenvelope! LOVED IT so much. It delivers to their email or phone in an "envelope" and you get go customize the color, wax seals and all!

We made a QR code for people to just scan it automatically took them to RSVP and all they had to do was enter their name

We're doing online RSVP's too and for any older guests we plan to just call them and ask.

My partner and I are opting for the online RSVP route for a few reasons. We have a lot of guests who are coming from out of town internationally, and sending things out is one thing, but getting things back is another whole task. Our website (we chose to go with Wedding Wires free site) has an RSVP page which made it super easy. The little cards are super cute, and if you're attached to those types of things then I would say do it, but online RSVP's just make everything more streamlined at the end of the day.

I made it for my website and then sent the image to office max for them to print on laminated glass cards that I included in my RSVPs. So far everyone had loved this

Most of our family and friends have done online RSVP and didn't have any problems! We're also doing online RSVP through Zola, since our website is on that platform! It's just so much easier, and it saves some paper!

Don't cater your wedding to the less than 5% of people you think might not be able to figure out a website. Also, if they can't figure out a website, they can ask for help. It's 2021.

I did mine online and then ordered a few paper rsvps for the few older guests. Worked well and saved money!

We’re doing both! Minted has free wedding websites that match our invitations and link to our address book. The website is listed on the invite and they can choose to send back the paper rsvp card or go online.

I sent all my invites out online. For the ones that hard a slightly hard time I just walked them through it. You can also just ask them personally and rsvp for them.
