Online rsvp

Lmwright1020, on October 17, 2019 at 11:46 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
Hi Ladies,

Any of you having your guests RSVP online on Wedding Wire?

My sister did this and she seemed to have success with it. I was thinking it is a cheaper alternative to not need to print RSVP cards, get envelopes, and stamps for everyone to send it back. Plus people get busy and forget to send them back. At the same time I think of those who aren't technology savy...

What's your all thoughts?

Thanks!!

We did an online RSVP on the knot and had no complaints! Most of our guests RSVPd on time and the ones who didn’t would not have done it anyway even if it was a paper RSVP lol. I’d just recommend putting an email address and/or phone number down too, saying something like “please RSVP on our website [website link]. If you have any difficulty using the website, you can reach us at.....”

We did both. Guests could RSVP online through our website (we used The Knot) or send back our RSVP card (stamped & addressed & included in the invite). I'd say about 20% used the online option, the rest used the paper RSVP.

I'm sending out the RSVP cards to everyone, but only putting return stamps on the ones for less tech savvy guests. I know that my grandmother would complain and probably just not do it if she had to RSVP online.

I used RSVPify! It was great. I can easily track entree choices, rsvp for people, delete or add guests easily and they have a seat chart tool. One of my favorite decisions lol.

We’re doing this currently through Minted. Makes it easy to keep track of everything, although there are a few older guests who are like “we rsvp online??” LOL. Other than that so far so good!. Good luck!

If you have certain people who you KNOW would struggle with an online RSVP (maybe older relatives?) maybe you could send them a paper one... but then again, my 90 year old great uncle managed to RSVP online so 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 And I have another less tech-savy great uncle who’s in his 80s but he just called me to say he was coming, which was fine. So idk if paper is even worth it, especially if you’re including a phone number. For most people it will be easier to just click “yes I’m attending” than to text or call you anyway! Just make sure to stay super organized and if someone does RSVP via a phone call (which, to me, with 147 invitees, I think only 3 or 4 people called or texted rather than using the website...?) make sure to mark it down right away

That's a great idea!! Otherwise I will have to just ask them. I believe I can change RSVPs myself.
