Online rsvp with menu selection

AG, on May 13, 2018 at 5:13 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
Hi! We are having online only rsvps on our website and need people to select their meal when they do so. I have the upgraded Minted, but I don’t love the format for meal selection. Basically the question comes up with a text box and people type what each person wants.

I was wondering if anyone knows a better wedding website - I’d love if the question come up for each person listed on that invitation and they could then select from a multiple choice style question.

or just in general if anyone has done this and has any advice I’d appreciate it!

thanks!

My website is on weddingwire and that's how it works on that site. When you search a person it will come up with whatever grouping you have them in (couple or family etc) and they have a drop down under each name to chose the meal.

I use the upgraded Minted website as well and am doing online RSVP (or phone/email) so I totally get what you are talking about. I didn't love it either - but it didn't bother me enough to redo my website with another company. My site had already been in use for a couple of months prior to this menu issue and it was completely done. I just made sure the guests were told to indicate which meal belonged to which guest in the question about meal selection (i.e. John Doe - Beef Wellington; Jane Doe - Salmon). I mailed my invites out this last Wednesday and so far about 40 have RSVP'd. Everyone so far has done it correctly and without a problem (at least that was shared with me). I asked a few friends and all thought it was easy/intuitive.

Oh wow that is so good to know! I paid $20 for the upgrade and while not a huge fee I feel kind of bummed about not using it. That's super smart to indicate how to list the meal the want - I was worried people just wouldn't get it (you know how some things just shouldn't be that hard but always are for some reason) so I'll definitely look into wording it a bit better - thank you so much!!

I have my website on Zola and it works that way. There’s a multiple choice meal option for each guest.
