Online rsvp - minted

Cassidy, on August 24, 2020 at 12:03 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

I want to do online RSVPs and plan to use minted since that's where I am getting my stationary from. I love that I can set the limit for each guest. BUT what if someone who is allowed 4 people, only rsvp for 2 people..... how do I know which people are coming and which aren't?? Seems like a flaw?

Daughter's website was on The Knot and she did all online RSVPs. On The Knot you list each guest's name individually, but you can link them into "households." One member of the household could RSVP for everyone within their group if they wanted. I think for the few people who received an "and guest" she listed them as "Sally Jones" and "Sally Jones Guest," and put them in the same household group, so when Sally RSVP'd she could respond for both of them.

I agree with PP the Knot is much better for online RSVPs. You could still have your invitations from Minted and have your wedding website/RSVPs through the Knot.

We used the Knot, as well, and found it worked great. The households feature was particularly useful, as we included kids.

I am using The Knot for RSVPs, and it's super easy to use, especially the household feature (as previous comments have also mentioned). Is there a comment section on Minted where guests can type the names of those attending? Otherwise, if you use Minted, you may have to reach out to people after they RSVP if their # attending doesn't match the # invited.

I don't know how to help you solve this, but it's definitely possible to make the person enter their names, at least if you have all of the names listed on the invitation/guest list. My husband and I RSVP'd to a wedding through minted last year and I remember having to go through the process twice so we could each enter our names, RSVP to the wedding and brunch, and choose an entree. If you addressed an invitation to "The Smith Family," I'm assuming you would have to enter each of their names in ahead of time so they'd have to type in each family member/guest's name separately to RSVP. You might be able to do that for people who haven't RSVP'd yet, but if they already have, you'll just have to reach out to them to get the names.

You can also do this on wedding wire. You add one guest and add related guests. When they go to RSVP that guest and the related guest will pop up and they can select response for each related guest and them selves individually.

I did this on Minted- you just add questions to your RSVP. I added multiple questions since I am having a plated meal. I asked for guests names and their meal choices as well as allergies.

Can you share the wording you used? I hate that I can’t make questions optional. If a guest is a party of 1 it’s not ideal that they can’t skip the guest meal question. I’m thinking of the following questions for the RSVP.

    1) meal selection: fish or chicken 2) guest meal selection: fish or chicken (if not applicable write n/a)3) name and any food allergies or restrictions (if not applicable write n/a)
The only problem with the above is you don’t know which guest wants which food. I’d love to see how you worded it.

There are alot of recommendations for using rsvpify.com which doesn't appear to have a limit. You can also customize questions for each guest.
