Has anyone done invites through a Facebook event?

We made invitations for the main invite list which is our close family, about 35people including kids. We have debated inviting extended family. We mostly want it small, but have space for more to attend. We are thinking of just inviting extended family through a Facebook event. Is that tacky?It’s a very small casual outdoor bbq wedding at an Airbnb.

Yes, that’s tacky. I would, at the very least, do digital invitations. Social media isn’t an appropriate way to invite someone to a wedding.

No matter how casual the event, I think you should treat all of your guests the same. So, do paper invitations for all or, if you want digital, then Paperless Post of even Evites for all. Facebook events are problematic for weddings.

Why not just ask for their address in private message to make sure they get an invite?
