I was scrolling through facebook and an advertisement popped up for a bridesmaid dress site called Azazie. Anyone heard of them? Their dresses are gorgeous and affordable!

I actually bought my civil wedding dress from this site. I was very concerned about sizing as well as my measurements didn’t fit one specific size on their sizing chart. I actually had my measurements taken at David’s Bridal and used those measurements to get a dress custom made with the measurements I had. It was pretty spot on! I only had to get minimal alterations and that’s because I wanted it a little more fitted but honestly it would of been ok without alterations. The custom made dresses are not something you can return so you wanna make sure you get accurate sizing. You can size up a little if you want to be safe but might need alterations. The pricing was very affordable and the quality of the dress was really great. I had no complains at all. ☺️ Good luck!

Ahh, okay! Great tip. So you went into davids bridal for fittings and got measurements then? Or can you just go in and say you need measurements and they do it?

So, I had initially gone in to try on dresses to identify which type of styles of dresses look well on my type of body. Then I asked for them to measure me and they were able to and I wrote it down just to have. I found the appointment helpful cause I was able to identify which type of style of dress looks good on me and that was kinda what helped me find my civil wedding dress. I think they might be able to measure you without trying on dresses but not too sure. At my David’s bridal they are encouraging appointments so you don’t wait that long and so they can kinda control amount of people at the store. If you haven’t tried on dresses, I would recommend an appointment along with asking them to take your measurements.

Azazie is great! My bridesmaids are getting their dresses from Kennedy Blue instead, but my mom is getting hers from Azazie and has had a great experience so far with the at home try on and swatches.

If you're mostly worried about sizing, just remember the dress probably won't look incredible when you try it on! When you go into a bridal salon, they have these insane heavy-duty clips that they use to temporarily "alter" the dress so that it looks amazing on you. The norm is for brides to get their dress altered after purchase, sometimes significantly. So at this point I'd say you should find a highly-rated local tailor and ask them how much wedding dress alterations cost, then factor that cost into your budget. Get your online dress that looks great on the model. Make sure you err on the side of the dress being too large, so you don't have to pay for extra fabric in the alterations. Then just take your dress and the pic with the model to your tailor and work to achieve that look on YOUR body! I swear, a good tailor is a god-send.

Got it! Very good advice. Thank you. Another lady also advised me to go into a bridal store and try and some dresses in store to see which style of dress i like best and get my measurements. Then I will have all of those details for ordering online if I need. Smiley shame
