Online dress shops

Katie, on June 11, 2021 at 10:05 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 9
Hi!

Please don’t judge me for asking- I was wondering if anyone has ordered their wedding dress from online whether through Etsy or some other website? I still haven’t found my dress because I’ve been losing weight honestly still just don’t feel pretty or whatever so trying on dresses has been traumatizing but now my wedding isn’t that far away and I’m sort of in a panic. I’ve seen some online shops with dresses that I LOVE and they’re super cheap but I’m scared to risk it.

I know Azazie is very popular for bridesmaids, but they also have wedding dresses. I have seen some brides on here mention that they got their wedding dresses through them. They offer the option to try on dresses before you purchase. You can select up to three dresses at a time for $15 per dress. I think it would be a great way to make sure you like the dress on your first and make sure you are happy with the quality of the dress before you commit to purchasing it. They have some very beautiful options and they really aren't all that expensive.

Lulus has wedding gowns that are affordable too. the other option is just looking for evening or prom gowns that are white too. often times formal dresses that are white are a lot cheaper and look bridal too.

i would suggest that whatever you decide to do, there are a few things to consider:

    1. look at what their return and refund policy is

    2. see if they have customer review photos

    3. hey if it's cheap enough just go for it haha. i mean honestly if it's just going to be $15, and you're ok with taking that risk, just go for it. my dress was something i randomly got off forever 21 because it was interesting to me and it was so inexpensive i just took the risk to try it and it ended up working out perfectly. but it's because it was so inexpensive i just did it.

    4. it may also help if you know the styles you want already. for instance if you've already tried on gowns in person, that really helps narrow down the style that works best on you so that you don't really blindly buy something in a style that may not quite fit you

Melle is spot on with her 4 pieces of advice.

I have seen a lot of brides on WW say good things about BHLDN, Azazie, and Lulu's for their affordable wedding dresses and good customer service. There are definitely other reputable online stores but those are the most commonly suggested ones I have seen.
I can add that my gown was originally sold as a prom/formal dress. It was about $400 and I was able to take it home the day I tried it on. Some of the formal wear shops in your area may have their full inventory online for you to browse and you can go pick your dress up rather than wait for it to be shipped. Just another option to consider!

BHLDN has beautiful dresses and a good return policy. Wherever you order from make sure you carefully read their return policy.

Hi Katie! There are actually a lot of reputable online wedding dress stores now!! You can buy wedding dresses online through department stores, as well as through BHLDN, Azazie, Lulu's, Modcloth, and ASOS.

Here are a few more discussions where other brides have shared store recommendations:

Buy a dress online (hoping for < $500, did you try on dress styles in stores first?)

    Online dress shopping??

When I got married the first time I ordered my dress from Pearl's place. I had found the maggie sottero dress at a local shop and then found it online for half the price. It was a great experience. This time I got my bridesmaid dresses at JJ's house and they were cheap and great quality. Do your research and read reviews. Happy shopping!!

I originally went to David's bridal and tried on different style of dresses, to see what I liked. I found a Mori Lee dress that I fell in love with online. Brand new with tags. On preownedweddingdresses.com.
