One of my diamonds fell out!

Molly, on February 22, 2020 at 8:32 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12
So last night I was just looking at my ring and noticed one of the side diamonds was no longer in its place. I started to cry because I've been an emotional mess lately with all the planning.

Do I go to the place FH got the ring or should I go through the insurance I have on it.One of my diamonds fell out! 1

I would contact the place the ring was purchased from and they should be able to tell you what the best way to go about it is. Let them know that it is insured and see what they say, then go from there!

Depends on where you go it. I have my rings through Jared and have insurance plan on my rings through them. So when my diamonds come up missing they replace them. We have inspections every 6 months to keep that warranty too. They also polish and resize my rings for free.

Is it under warranty? One of my diamonds was replaced, no big deal.

I actually just got a fake ring which is an exact replica of my diamond. I did this because I’m the type of person that WILL drop my ring down the sink and also I’m bad about taking it off when I wash my hands and I sleep with it etc. so I didn’t wanna have to worry about something like this happening so I just wear the fake and I keep my real diamond in my jewelry box. I would go right back to the place and tell them. And for the future you might want to think about getting a fake replica of your ring. I was so iffy about it at first but honestly I can’t even tell the difference between my real ring and my fake one. My ring is pretty standard so it was easy for me to find an exact look alike but the website is Tiger Gems and they are amazing. Good luck!

Did you get diamond insurance? Use it! Or just call the store and let them advise you ☺️

    Hey!
So sorry! He got my ring at Kay's.
We have insurance, which includes a six month inspection. The last time I was there, I had a loose diamond, which they fixed. They stated that if I have any further issues just to bring it back.I'd start with your original jewelry store. They will guide you.Don't worry! It will be fine! They will take care of you. Hugs to you.❤

Contact the place he got the ring, most places will have a warranty and will replace it no problem. If they say you’ll have to pay for the replacement then call the insurance company.

Diamonds that size (melee) are very easy and fast to replace. Most jewelers wild do repair/replacements for free if you for free if bought from them. Insurance is generally for larger issue like if it were your center stone that fell out. That said, if for whatever reason the jeweler you bought it from wants to charge a fee (I can’t imagine they would) you can check if your insurance.

Oh no! I'm sorry!! This happened to me 2 months after I got engaged. It was a tiny one but I was so upset. I took it to the store he got it from, and since he had insurance on it it was a free, easy fix. Just had to wait a bit to get it back

I would check your policy to see what your cost would be through the insurance company to make a claim vs what it would cost to replace the diamond out of pocket. I wouldn't make a claim on the insurance policy if the cost to replace out of pocket is doable
