One million dollar liability insurance.

Sunshine & Sprinkles, on October 10, 2012 at 12:17 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I need it for my venue. I can't go through my insurance company because I have renters insurance. Suggestions?

We got a pretty large policy like that for about $180 or so, maybe less?

Check your contract and make sure you only choose the specific amounts you need b/c the price can go way up or way down depending on all the drop downs you choose.

Thankfully we didn't have to make any claims on it so I can't speak to that, but it was pretty easy to purchase the policy at least and I think that company has a pretty good reputation.

There are many sites for insurance. Some only cover some states and read the fine print they make it sorta hard. We are still looking.

    Wedsafe.com

We're purchasing ours tomorrow as our venue requires it.

Additionally, with all the armed service peeps here, USAA offers it as well under 'products' I think its underwritten by another company under their umbrella. Both USAA and Wedsafe are comparable in price.

    HTH.

Have you spoken to the company that issues your renter's policy? Normally, they can add an event rider.

My venue wanted the same thing and I was freaking out because I didn't know what they were wanting. I called them to ask them about it and they said that my homeowner's insurance would be fine...but maybe they were making an exception for me? It couldn't hurt to ask...

Groomzilla, There was one thing that wedsafe would not allow that is part of life for us. The USAA policy will be less I think. I just did that quick online estimate. I tried to PM you my thanks again.
