One kid?

I dont think they will be. We r also doing kid free wedding and the only kid there will be 13, but he is the groomsman autistic son; which is my FH cousin.

For our wedding we have just family bringing their kids since most of my FH's cousins have kids.

If you want that person there then do it ! I found most people didn't want to bring their young kids to a wedding and wanted a night out instead . The only kids I'm having are my brothers , no others were invited

Technically she's not a kid rather a teenager. The only thing I would just warn the fiance's half-brother about is that she would be the only 13 year old there so to me she would be bored. Now I could see some people may be having an issue with it so just to play things safe why don't you give her a role like an older flower girl or something like that?

I definitely think you will be fine. People understand. And 13 years old is at least in the teenager stage, so not exactly a "kid."

Are there other guests with kids around his age? If you have other guests with 13 year old kids then this may offend them, but if your other guests have kids like 6 years old or something then I think they'd understand the difference between that and a 13 year old. We also had a "kid free" wedding but my 13 and 15 year old cousins attended. Those same cousins have siblings ages 5 and 7. Even that family understood that their 13 and 15 year old kids were invited but it was just not an appropriate setting for their young children. It was more a compliment like "we generally have a kid free wedding but your 13 and 15 year olds behave like young adults "

I don't think it should be an issue unless they are a very immature 13 year old. In reality you have the right to define what you consider a kid. You can also blame the venue. What do they consider a child?

The one kid will be my FH's daughter. Other than that we are having a kidfree wedding. The babysitter will have her in bed by 830. If anyone has a problem with that, they can talk to the complaint department.

For our weeding no kids allow

I feel like teenagers aren't exactly kids. 13 year olds are pretty independent and don't need constant supervision, so if you want a teen or two at your wedding who are important to you, I think that's fine and would still consider it a kid free wedding.

We are having a "no children" wedding but my cousin's 16 yo son is invited. He's like 6'2" so my only concern is that he isn't served alcohol.

Other people are your guests. Who you choose to invite is not something they get to vote on as fair or unfair. If you make an exception, first of all, don't tell people " we are inviting no children ." Say, we have invited a very few, very close teens or kids. So no one can throw your rule back at you. If they question you further, the answer is, we as hosts, decided who we wished to invite. ( Subject closed ). Anyone with poor enough manners to grouse about fair, unfair, etc., should be cut off. We are not a court. We need not make rulings on what is fair. This is our wedding/ party, and we decided who to invite. No discussion. All private party decisions are based on who you the hosts feel closest to, and want with you on this day, or for any party. And nobody, not your parents, not other parents, should be so presumptuous that they decide they can remake your decisions. If they don't like the vegetables you are serving, they don't eat them, and don't moan and complain about it. If they don't like your choices for the guest list, they can themselves decline to attend. Your wedding is the beginning. Whether it is your own dinner parties, or children's birthdays or sleepovers, now that you have started your own family of 2, you as hosts decide. Get used to it, and feel comfortable doing it.

It's your wedding, invite who you want! Our wedding is kid free except for my only niece. If anyone has a problem with it, too bad!
