Olive Garden For Catering?

sydney, on November 15, 2018 at 11:24 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 23

Hello ladies! My FH and I decided on using Olive Garden as our caterer since it fits our budget and we both go there all the time. Has anyone ever used them to cater any events? If so how did it go? Or if anyone has used a chain restaurant to cater their wedding, what restaurant did you choose and why? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi Sydney! I have used Olive Garden Catering for an event before, and it was a huge hit! I have also used Bucca di Beppos and Maggianos for event catering as well. Out of all of these places, Bucca di Beppos was definitely the best, but Olive Garden was still really delicious! I think the best way to order is to get a large variety of choices to accommodate dietary needs! Also, when you order catering from large chain restaurants, they will deliver the food, but will not stay around to serve it! Olive Garden set up the food, but we were responsible for breaking it down, and everyone serves themselves! Just something to consider! Smiley smile

We have used Olive Garden for work events, doing create your own pasta bar, and it has always been a hit with everyone. They provide the chaffing kits and set everything up so we just had to take down when the event was over.

They do! It is really convenient for set up, as they will have the catering delivery person set up the food for you with chaffing kits included! Smiley smile

Create your own pasta bar sounds awesome! However, I'd do 1 or 2 more appetizers than just mushrooms. I hate mushrooms (and some people are allergic) so if I were a guest I'd be pretty hungry waiting for dinner to come around! Perhaps you can do other apps from their menu that will appeal to more tastes?

I have had it for a work party, an it worked out well. I would consider it. My fiancee got Chicken shack for his daughter's wedding and the guests really liked it too. I wouldn't mind using Famous Dave's BBQ for ours, but not everyone likes that

Ooohh. Can you get chicken gnocchi soup? Lol. Probably would be way too difficult but so so good. Does it come with the salad as well? I also think you should have more apps if you can. I loveee mushrooms, but it's always good to have variety for guests who may not.

She had lasagna and chicken Parmesan with salad and breadsticks. For appetizers she had a cheese and crackers and veggie and fruit and dip trays from Wegman’s for cocktail hour. They served beer and wine and ice tea and lemonade. They had 60 people in a function room at a Hampton Inn.

They were on a really tight budget, but I never would have guessed they spent less than $5,000 on that day. It really was a lovely reception.

Im now thinking of buying a large cheese and fruit tray for appetizers and just doing the pasta bar with the small Dolcini dessert since it all comes with bread sticks and salad Im assuming that can hold everyone off until its cake cutting time
