Old Hollywood Glam Hairstyle

Gina, on April 18, 2013 at 3:59 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Does anyone have any good recommendations for stylist who can do this look? Tried one trial already and it was a NO-GO! I don't understand why a stylist would say she can do the look if she can't!

Jersey Bride! Well, when you find out, let me know. I'm still looking for someone that won't charge me $300.

Love this hairstyle I actually did this for my cousins wedding. It was not exact but damn near close. Good luck finding someone you still have some time.

You should not only consider the hair stylists skills but also your hair type. Kim Kardashian wears extensions which gives her that long/full look. Even people with long hair would need extensions to make that look full enough. We offer extension services for our brides at a fairly low cost. You can also buy your own clip in style extensions for a fairly low price online.

For that type of look i would try to find a pin up stylist. Those types of waves are very common for the 50's style. I will be going to one local to me to make sure i get the correct look.

I agree with Bloom, with those waves/curls the hair bounces up a lot. I personally do my own hair similar to that. When straightened my hair is like 1/3 down my back but when styled like that it jumps up just past my shoulders.

A good thing to maybe ask stylists is if they can do finger wave or pin-curl techniques (authentic or even short cut pin curls with like curling irons) since that's how most of those styles start off. I'm no professional or anything, but hopefully this can help a bit Smiley smile

Pretty look... Do you have a pic of how it looked on you? Did your stylist tell you what is missing to make you achieve that look? If they didn't then I would find someone else.

I work with great hair stylists who specialize in wedding hair, including "Golden Age of Hollywood" styles. The style you want to achieve requires multipe extensions, and it is totally "doable". I actually like they way your hair looks, but it is DEFINITELY NOT the style your were trying to achieve. I am sure you will find someone who will do it right!

That's how I am getting my hair done for my wedding day too. I don't have my trial until the 2nd of May, hopefully she can pull it off. I have seen some pictures of similar hairstyles she has done. Unfortunately I do not know anyone in your area
