Okay, dumb question about tulle wrinkles...

Hollywoll, on March 15, 2011 at 4:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

Okay, so my dress is very simple. It has a tulle bottom with beading sewn in all around. It has a few wrinkles that I'm worried about. Is there something I can do - aside from letting it hang in my closet? I got nervous with the place I bought my dress from, so I don't want to take it there (it was a family owned business). Maybe there's an easy way to de-wrinkle it at home?

Tulle can be steamed, which you can do at home. Just be sure it's not too hot.

With a steamer or like...a hot, steamy bathroom? I was reading up on it, but I didn't know if that was smart to do...

I would suggest doing it in a hot steamy bathroom that way you dont risk damaging yor dress sometimes those steamers can leave brown stains on your dress unless it brand new out of the box.

Lol, thanks! I was asking ahead of time, in case I should make an appointment somewhere. Honestly, I could live with the wrinkles, but if it's as easy as stepping into my bathroom....I'm gonna go for it!

I feel super relieved that I won't have to pay money to have it done (like my lame bridal store suggested).

Be very careful, I steamed by crinolin (spelling) sorry. Anyway it went flat on me and the tulle lost all its poof,I called the dress shop and the lady told me the only way for that not to happen is to just hang it in the bathroom and let the shower run. I had to get a new one because this one will not work under my dress now...ugh I wish I would have asked like you are. Smiley smile Good Luck!

My crinoline needs to be dewrinkled and my seamstress told me to hang it in tha bathroom after someone has gotten out of a hot shower, NOT while they were in the shower. Something about the steam being different while the shower was on versus after
