Ok to Ask Bridesmaids to Wear Certain Heel Height?

Ok ladies - need your expertise here! I have three bridesmaids - two are about 5'4" and one is 5'9". Since the girls heights are spread I figured it would be good for the tallest BM to wear a much shorter heel however she is contemplating wearing 3" heels! Ok ladies - need your expertise here! I have three bridesmaids - two are about 5'4" and one is 5'9". Since the girls heights are spread I figured it would be good for the tallest BM to wear a much shorter heel however she is contemplating wearing 3" heels! This would make her a good 6" taller than the rest of the girls. I myself am 5'6" and plan to wear 2" heels.

So my question is - is it OK for me to tell her what heel height to wear to help create a more uniform height amongst the party or is that going too far? Just hate the vision of a BM 6" taller than the rest of us Smiley smile

If being the tallest is so important to you, just find some stilts to wear yourself...

I'd wear whatever you want and then take them off at the reception. I hate heels period but I wear them for weddings as a BM. It's your day Smiley smile

One of my girls wears 6" plus heels and she can't walk in them for crap. I said due to the fact you will be standing in one place for a long time I suggest nothing over 2.5 inches. I know she can walk in this height heel the taller ones she can't and she is always turning an ankle. But they look cool right?

I have to agree with krisilicious. I absolutely vote no. I'm in a wedding next month and she's already being so strict. Wear your hair this way, wear silver, high heeled shoes, no bling, no jewelry except stubs, blah blah blah. I love her, but it's driving me nuts! I'M paying for the dress. I'M paying for the shoes. I'M paying for the hair and makeup. She at first wanted us to wear clossed toed shoes, then straps. I finally said something, politely...that we have long dresses and no ones going to see or pay any attention to that! Height is not going to matter. All eyes are going to be on you and your fiancé, not the bridesmaids height. There are many things that you can control in the wedding, but the height of your loved ones is not one of them. And personally, if I got asked to wear 2" heels, 4" heels, or flats...I'd be a little insulted. Good luck!
