I cannot find the “perfect place” for my wedding. I’ve looked at so many venues and nothing has really caught my eye.

Where did you get married ladies?

So my ceremony is at a Catholic Church and my reception is at an old mansion. It is gorgeous and exactly what I wanted, and honestly no other venue would’ve been what I was looking for. My FH didn’t have an opinion but when he saw it we both knew it was perfect. It really is a hidden gem as it is really not on the wedding wire or knot apps unless you really really dig. I only know of it because my mom has been there before and recommended it to me! Try searching through some alternate routes and you might just stumble upon your dream venue!

We were the same way! Every venue sort of resembled one another and the ones close to home were either way too overpriced or super outdated banquet halls (not our style at all) so we took a trip to Traverse City and fell in love with a venue near our favorite vacation spot! We chose Aurora Cellars in Lake Leelanau so family can get a mini vacation and enjoy the upper Michigan Autumn at the same time. I recommend viewing as many venues as possible and when you find the right one....you’ll know!

I’m getting married in a Catholic Church and then the reception is at a golf course. I honestly ALWAYS wanted a barn reception.... but after researching prices, realized it’s not realistic for the budget. I met the chef for Dunham’s Hills golf course at a bridal event and was not sure about the venue at first but LOVED her food and really wanted her. The price was right, great food, plus they’ve been doing renovations. The place really began to grow on me after I booked it. It kinda has a rustic feel to it so it’s perfect!
