Oh Davids Bridal!!! Lost my bridesmaid dress!

_justquesha, on June 3, 2016 at 7:45 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

So I get a call from my MOH telling me that one of my bridesmaid dresses is lost. My bridesmaid went in for alterations and went back to pick it up. They now can't find the dress anywhere in the store! To make matters worse they don't even make that particular dress anymore!!!!!!! She is the only one without her dress and the rest of my bridal party have their dresses. My MOH gave them until Monday to come up with a dress or a solution! I just don't know what to do or think. Think I'm pretty much in shock. 42 days away from my wedding. Just needed to vent.

Nobody will be able to tell if it's a slightly different dress but the same color

It sounds like your MOH is on top of it. Do they still carry the color? Could they possibly get her another dress on rush order? It might not be the style, but at least it would be the right color.

My MOH is wearing a different style, darker shade. Would the MOH's dress possibly fit the bridesmaid, maybe MOH can wear a different style??? I'm so sorry that happened to you. My BMs got thier dresses from David's Bridal because they are a lot more affordable and convenient than other places in my town. But...they had horrible customer service. They only gave my BMs 3 days to pick up their dresses or they threatened to send them back!!! Soooo I had to go get them.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I am not trying to downplay what happened, because I do think it sucks and that you have this added stress. But if there is a bright side, it's that it happened to your MOH. I assume your other girls have their matching dresses? SOOOO many brides opt to have their MOH in a slightly different dress on purpose. It may not be what you originally wanted try to think of it as her getting an upgrade.

It's not my MOH dress it is one of the bridesmaid dress that they lost. I can't give the bridesmaid my MOH dress because hers is a totally different color. We had a very hard time figuring out dresses that were made in the Lapis color. They don't have many dresses in that color anymore.

I would get a color swatch and start trying to find another dress in the same or a similar color. It won't be the same style, but at least you have a backup plan in place.

Are they for real?? I'm sooo sorry this is happening to you and your BM!! It definitely sounds like your MOH is on top of this, but I agree with her demand: find the dress or come up with a solution. It's inexcusable for any vendor to lose someone's property, especially since I'm sure she'd already paid for it in its entirety. Good luck!

ETA: Someone posted a thread with this advice a little earlier: try Amazon and look for David's Bridal. I don't know which dress your BM needs, but there's a chance you can find a replacement there! Good luck!

I have one up on that.....they lost my daughter's wedding dress after purchasing the extra "special care" promo to clean/protect/package up the wedding dress. DON'T PURCHASE THIS SCAM!! They not only lost it, they haven't helped in tracking it....we are doing all the foot work and they won't refund the cost of dress/veil & restoration boxing. There is a max in the fine print, $500. Once they get your money the party is over. If a chance to do it over again, I would NOT purchase from David's Bridal. Nothing. That is why they are going out of biz I am sure!!!
