Officiant

So right now I’m waiting on being able to meet with a priest at the church a close family friend is a warden of and highly respected in the community. Basically his church would come to us the day of the ceremony and we would obviously meet and what not. His church isn’t strict on religious beliefs or anything that I’m aware of so far. If this was to work out then all the church requires/asks for is a donation. We are getting married in October and I’ve been told a few times that I need to find someone soon and that’s not gonna happen until sometime after April with this COVID 19. In the event that the church doesn’t work out just to book someone that would at least meet in person with us a do a rehearsal is around 400-600$ and up, compared to 150-200$ dontation which is a lot of money for us and once all this Virus stuff is up, I’m worried we won’t find someone available if the church doesn’t work out. In the event that all this does happen, is there anyway we could get married shortly before in a courthouse and then do a ceremony at the venue where our ceremony, cocktail and reception is taking place?

Hi Danielle! Are you able to work to secure an officiant through the church over the phone in the meantime? Maybe this family friend could help you arrange a phone or skype meeting to get things in motion?

If you're ready to look for a backup plan you can browse through the WeddingWire vendor directory for officiants in your town. Wedding Officiants

Do you have a ceremony venue booked already?
