I have 2 maid of honors. 1 is my best friend of 23 years. My parents pretty much adopted her through our school years because her mom wasn't really a mom. Shes like my sister. My other 1 is my best friend of 11 years. She is the one who is going to marry us. She got her certificate online. But we're not very religious. We're doing our ceremony at our venue in the same room as reception. They said typically their ceremonies are like 20 minutes tops. We have NO IDEA where to start about the ceremony. We dont want anything to religious and shes the funniest person I know so I'm ok with having some fun and not so serious. She has no idea what to do. Any advice or sites anyone has to help us figure out a ceremony speeches?

She is a good writer but we literally have no idea lol like coming in blind basically. Dont know how to start. We can buy this book or something she said off this church site she got certified from but she thinks it may be super religious because its through a church. So I figured I'd come on here and see what advice or recommendations anyone would have.

I see. I would start with her searching for some non-religious samples online. You and hubby get together and draft up things you might want included in the ceremony.
She may start off with something like: Greetings and salutations everyone! We have herded you all here to celebrate the most glorious of unions of my bff and her fiancé who will become her husband in tminus 20min. These lovely people were brought together one fateful day at...

Remind her to have fun and let her know what topics/words/etc. are off limits.

I was told to google it and I could find rough ideas! I would just think about what story you want to tell your audience, what is important to you, and relay that information to them! Give them a generic outline so the religious part doesn't take over. They seem to know you very well so, I think it will be easier than anticipated.

Hey Erica, how is your ceremony plan progressing? Is a script or an outline starting to come together?
