Officiant options

Madeline, on July 22, 2019 at 7:37 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
Hey guys!! So need some ideas. My fiance and I will already be legally married by the time out big wedding comes along....both in the military so just makes it easier doing court house first. But since we already will be legal dont need a license officiant. So what do yall think I should do about that would like it to be a regular wedding but then again also fun, just dont want to pay the extra however much it is for a licensed one..

Since you don’t need someone that’s ordained, I would ask a close friend or family member.

I’d ask a family member or friend.

This also means you can have them say whatever they want which is cool

I agree with the PPs. Get someone who is close to both of you to do it.

We are doing the same and asked someone we both adore to make our moment with friends and family as sweet and funny as possible. Make sure you choose someone that feels comfortable speaking in front of people and will work with you on the ceremony you want.

My problem is we have no idea who to ask. Just dont have many friends either of us and the ones we do have will be in the wedding. 😂

Here's an out there idea... what if you both married yourselves. Instead of the "We are gathered today" pick different poems or quotes for each of your attendants to read. Then exchange your vows and rings with words you write together or individually if you're writing your own vows anyway. Then with the power given to you by your love in each other you can pronounce yourselves. There are so many ceremony ideas online to help you with a basic outline that works for you. Honestly, I'm an officiant and would still love to see this done even if I'm just there to sign the license.

Next idea, have your MOH and BM officiate together.

Third idea, if either of you are religious see if clergy of your faith would be willing to bless your union.

If you're nerdy, see if a local cosplayer would perform the ceremony. You might be able to work out a deal that they get a few shots with the photographer as a fee.
