Officiant fees

We paid $500 for our officiant two years ago.

We hired an officiant we found online for a destination wedding for $400

I'm paying just under $400

Our officiant was $150+ gratuity so we ended up paying her $300 total.

Ours is $425, which includes “extras,” such as having him attend the rehearsal dinner and extra mileage fee for being a bit out of range for him. He did offer packages though, so I think the lowest price point was somewhere around $300??

Ours is $400 and we opted to pay an additional $200 for her to do our rehearsal too, so $600 total + tip. More than we wanted to spend, but I know I'll feel a lot better having a full rehearsal lead by someone who knows what they're doing!

I think it somewhat depends on locality and if you are hiring them from an officiant service, but my fiancé and I are getting both our preachers to be officiants and they only ask for a donation, not a set fee, which we are basing off of what our friends have paid to those preachers for their weddings. We come from a very small locality, so it’s usually around $50 to $100.

We are in a high cost of living area, and mixed faith where I’m not religious and he is Christian. While many vendors are able to be located inexpensively, the officiants we found range from $750-1000. Or we can have a friend ordained through the marriage license office for the day for the cost of paperwork but that depends on what local jurisdiction considers to be legal.

$950 for mine (rabbi) - seems higher than most but we’ve met 4 times and it comes with 1 year membership to the Temple

I expected to pay around $150 - $300 at first, and you can find officiants at that price in my area (Cleveland, Ohio). For that price, you usually get the bare minimum, and that's initially what I wanted.

But we ended up going with an officiant that was about $700 and are VERY happy that we did.

She came as a recommendation from a friend and specializes in personalized ceremonies. We met her beforehand, then did several Zoom calls to talk about our relationship, marriage, what we wanted from the ceremony, etc.

The ceremony was one of the best parts of our wedding day, and very memorable for both us and our guests.

$500 for her to do the ceremony and rehearsal.
