Officiant Does Not Live in Missouri

I would contact the registrar/county licensing office/whatever it's called where you live to check. This particular detail is too important, and the answer too specifically regional, to poll strangers on the internet.

I agree you need to reach out to the authorities on this. It’s possible Missouri may not even allow your friend to legally marry you. Hopefully that isn’t the case. Good luck!

It didn't say anything about out of state clergy or how someone could obtain a one day permit to perform marriages, so you might want to call someone (in the secretary of state's office, probably) and ask about this directly.

The officiant should be able to tell you if they are legally allowed to marry you. If not, contact the office where you received your license and they should be able to tell you. Let us know how this turns out!
