Officiant cost

Cheyenne, on December 2, 2020 at 11:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12
A lady I know is marrying me this weekend. We asked her how much her fee was she said whatever we feel is right. So my question now is how much does someone charge to officiant a wedding?

Same here. We put a deposit of $200 & will pay the balance 2 weeks before the wedding. We’re also inviting him to the rehearsal dinner since he’s going to be at the rehearsal.

I have a friend who is an officiant/notary and she said the same thing. It really depends. If she's not giving you a solid price, I would say search other officiants in your area and see how much they charge. Maybe you'd be able to figure out a price then whether or not you match it exactly.

I think average might be around $400-600.

I think it depends on where you live. We paid $500 for our officiant which included him being at rehearsal and wedding.

Our officiant is my husbands aunt so she wouldn't take any money from us. We plan on giving her a gift care, wine, and a gift after out big wedding. Before she was officiating, we contacted one who said she would charge us $300

It varies. I've seen as low as $150 and as high as $500. I'm paying $0 for mine bc the state we're marrying in doesn't require an officiant.

Our officiant is $200 for the ceremony and an extra $50 if we needed her to run rehearsal, however we don't. This is in MA, if it helps you get an idea of pricing by area.

Luckily our close friend is going to get ordained online and marry us, and he won't let us pay him. We are going to gift him a bolo tie (that's his style), for him to wear at the wedding.

Everyone's prices on here vary, but I think $150-$200 is a fair price! It also depends on how far she'll have to travel to the venue! If she has to travel a ways, then def. add some extra in there for travel costs.

A friend of mine got ordained to marry us, so I am not sure how much an officiant charges. I offered to pay for any costs that come along with it. Since she is a friend I'm inviting her to all the wedding events - bachelorette party, bridal shower, rehearsal/rehearsal dinner, and wedding reception! I am also going to get her a gift and pay her like $100. She is the type of person to refuse to accept money, so I may get her a $100 giftcard of some-sort.

Unless she is a minister associated with a specific house of worship, she should have rates listed transparently to avoid confusion. Browse the going rates in your area on thumbtack.com and go with the average.

Prices for any service, wedding related or not depend on the area you are located in. The only price range to worry about is what is local to you.
