After seeing everyone's glowing comments about this dress and a super long video chat with my mom in the bridal salon, I bit the bullet on the Hyperion dress! I was feeling so indecisive the entire weekend, but once I actually made the decision and paid the deposit, I felt a huge sense of relief and confidence that it was the right choice.
I had zero intention of buying a dress so soon--and this was only the second one I tried! I went in just wanting to get an idea of what looked good on me. I went alone, but shared a mini bottle of champagne with the shop assistant and she even gave me two to take home and share with my fiancé. (Peep the mask, Covid-friendly champagne cup, and calculator to figure out my exact discount, haha!)
Since I bought the sample, it'll be waiting for me in the store until we start alterations. I can go back and try it on whenever I want, so I plan to bring a couple friends in a few months to assess shoe options.
It's so true that you won't know what looks good on you until you try things on. Stark white dresses really washed me out, but the taupe/champagne undertones on this one were perfect, surprisingly.
Good luck to everyone else on the dress hunt!
