October/fall Flowers

Elaine, on July 3, 2019 at 8:20 AM Posted in Style and Décor 1 10

My wedding will be October next year and have started to do research on what flowers will be available in season, but I also need to remember that my Maid of Honor is allergic to flowers with strong scents. The color palette that I like for my wedding is rose/peach, can anyone make recommendations about what flowers I can consider?

I’m also an October bride (this year, though). Are you DIY-ing? If not, I’d suggest you talk to your florist. He or she will know what’s in season and long lasting. Just bring lots of inspiration images to your meeting. They’re professionals and usually will be able to give you the best advice Smiley smile I told my florist my color scheme, the general vibe I’m going for (boho glam) and am letting her do her magic.

My mom is doing our flowers but late September we are going to go to the flower farmers market and see what they have, then decide from there.

That's a good idea! Love it.

The Flowers Market idea. If I left everything up to my mom, my wedding vision would not be mine at all. She wants all Filipino.

Mums, daisies, carnations, sunflowers all are in season and don't have a scent then.
Mums and carnations definitely come in reds and peaches

Consider fake flowers. This might help prevent your MOH from being a watery sneezy distraction during your ceremony.

I'd like to have real flowers, if possible but I'll think about it.

I have a wide variety of flowers actually for my October wedding this year! Mums, dahlias, garden roses, ranunculus, carnations, combo rose, zinnias, anemone, spray roses.

Sunflowers, carnations, and black eyed susans, cornflowers, and I think dahlias could all fit your description! Greenery and succulents are also nice for fall and mostly unscented
