October Weddings - Invites

Futuremrsn, on June 10, 2020 at 10:54 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
Hey Ladies-
I spoke to my venue yesterday and she assured me that things are looking up and that they can accommodate our full guest count of 120 people.
This is in October, of course. (They just opened up again and are hosting micro weddings). My question is: invitations. Do I print out invites/rsvp/detail cards and send them out? Or since people already know the information (we were originally meant to get married in May but we postponed to October after having already sent out invites back in March), can we just call everyone? I’m worried that the USPS is not as quick as it used to be, that invites will get lost in the mail or not make it to people. Our RSVP date is September 1. Should I just send out new invites a little earlier, perhaps in late July? October/Fall brides, what are you doing??

I think many folks are sending “change the date” cards. doesnt have to be a new invitation maybe just a little card

I would send new invitations since your date has changed. I have not seen any issues with regular mail, only packages being sent via FedEx, Amazon, etc. I think sending your new invitations at the traditional 6-8 week mark would be fine. If you want to save a little money, you could always do online RSVPs.

You could also just do online invitations like via email or something

I thought about email invites but then there’s people like our grandparents who don’t own computers or never set up email, haha! I suppose I could try email invites for most guests, and then call our grandparents and those who don’t have email?

I would do Change the Date cards with your website address and then maybe put a longer explanation there.

You really should treat the new date like it's own event. I would resend all the info.

I would resend new invitations, so much has changed!

We’re getting married at the beginning of October and will be mailing invites in July.

I think that’s what we are doing too - makes the most sense, everyone will hopefully receive it (had a few issues the first time around). People tend to not check their email anyway :/

We sent change the date cards when we knew we had to postpone! Now I just want to get all the information out again. Will probably just redo my original invites!
