October vs November Wedding

Kris , on August 28, 2018 at 8:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
So I was originally thinking oct 19 2018..but then I realized if we have it two weeks later on November 2, it would be considered the “off season” and we could save money. Any insight on fall weddings and peak season vs off season?

Btw we live in PA so it will be around 60 degrees then

Go for it, just prepare for the cold.

We picked off-season: December 2nd in Vegas. It'll be cold but we saved a ton of money because of it!

PA weather is SO unpredictable (that’s where FH and I grew up) but I honestly say do it. Just make sure you have a backup plan if you decide to do an outdoor portion. I don’t think weather has much to do with anything if you decide on an indoor ceremony, so I’d go with the off-peak dates and save yourself some money.

Honestly the weather in the northeast is so unpredictable, for all you know it could end up being colder in October than November. I wouldn’t pay more just because it “may” be warmer in October, because i think the likelihood of it being warm/cold is completely the same on both those dates 😂 save the money and go with November, the odds of good weather are the same!

I say go for it. That date is just far enough from Thanksgiving where it shouldnt be too much of an interference with holidays and you can use the money you save to splurge somewhere else. And two weeks won't make too much of a difference weather-wise. I think people would be just as likely to come in October as November.

I'm getting married in November but I'm in California! One of the reasons I did choose November was I wanted fall and October is now the new June. I've saved thousands of dollars! My date is exactly a year from when my FH proposed so it's a special date for us and a great time to travel because everyone is waiting to travel for thanksgiving!

I'm in PA as well. We are destination wedding in October and had wanted to plan a party for November. We wanted to do a picnic, but PA weather in November is too unpredictable. Could be 60 degrees, could be snow storm.

My daughter chose November for the off season discount. Her reception is in the Chicago suburbs but the ceremony and reception are all indoors so the weather is a non factor.
