October Honeymoon

Sabrina, on February 9, 2023 at 9:48 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8

We don't know where to go for our honeymoon in the middle of October this year! Staying within the US since we don't have passports. We looked at the US Virgin Islands but saw that could be during hurricane season so we don't know where we should go! I don't want to be around a bunch of families or kids but there aren't too many adult only resorts that I've found. Anyone have any ideas?

We did our October honeymoon in Hawaii and it was perfect weather the whole time! We did the Big Island, wasn’t busy during that time of year and got to go on lots of adventures while there.

So it sounds like you’re looking for a beach vibe, but just in case, my fiancé and I went to Savannah this past October, and it was AMAZING!! It’s such a gorgeous city with great restaurants that are perfect for fancy dinners, and there are a lot of historic boutique hotels that could be super romantic for a honeymoon vibe. They also have a lot of adults only tours. Plus October is off season there, so even the touristy areas had low crowds. It’s also a short drive from multiple beaches, so you could still do a beach-y day trip.

Those are both good options! As long as it's somewhere we haven't been I'm totally fine with going I just want to be able to relax and enjoy sunshine for sure.

Not sure if you want somewhere warm, but we took our October honeymoon in Maine and the colors were gorgeous!

We live in California but go up to the Napa area a lot. They can get pricey, but there are some really nice areas in that area (Napa, Yountville, Calistoga, Mendocino) if you want to enjoy nature, wine, and food. We took an engagement-moon last year there and we go back frequently to enjoy some of our favorite restaurants.

Resort areas would also be Southern California; we drive down to LA a lot but don't stay in resorts, but there's always something to do!

This isn't really a resort-area, but Chicago is really great if you love museums and food. The Art Institute, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and more are all there and are really great to peruse, and they have architectural river tours on boats that are fun.

Gatlinburg, TN would be lovely in October, you get the mountains and the Fall colors, there's an obsene amount of options for entertainment in the area too.

Gulf Shores, AL is also nice in October, not too hot, still run the risk of hurricanes though. There's also the near by option of OWA (think that's what it's called, amusement park, shopping options, dining, and other entertainment) as well as a lot of other options to explore.

Charleston, SC is also nice in October, but again, possible risk of hurricanes. You have the option of beaches, architectural beauty too.

We are doing a delayed honeymoon up to Salem, MA around Halloween.

That's prime time for the leaves changing in the northeast. Maybe the Poconos? The Adirondacks? There are a lot of resorts in those areas.
