I got married October 2019. We chose October because it is my favorite month, orange is my favorite color, and it is a gorgeous month where we live! I remember checking off a lot of major planning milestones in February!

I remember cake and food tastings being so fun! And yes, no matter how many things you check off the list, it seems like there is always so much left to do.

It’s good you have all the big stuff done! Ordering invitations around a holiday can save you money, sometimes. We ordered during Easter and got them on sale! Then just held onto them until time to send out.

I agree about November being hectic with Thanksgiving and getting too close to Christmas! It’s also starting to get cold where I live.

It sounds like you’re really on top of things as far as planning goes. Having an all-inclusive venue is nice. Our venue took care of a lot of stuff for us as well, which we really appreciated!

I feel you on both of those! I hate being cold lol. And no bride wants to be sweaty on her wedding day! It sounds like you have 3 of the major things checked off the list! What’s next?

I'm getting married in October and have everything planned out! Deposits have been put down on all vendors. We're just saving and paying them off. We chose October because our dating anniversary is 10/2 and his parents anniversary is also 10/2. His brothers anniversary is 10/3! We would have liked to do the first weekend in October to stick with tradition but it didn't work for us so we settled for 10/10/2020. October was also a solid choice because we live in Texas and it's usually cooling down by that pointSmiley smile

Early October seems like a popular time of month for your family 🤣. Our wedding was October 5th, so we are right in the middle of all of y’all!
That’s awesome that you’ve already got everything booked & deposits down. The best part of wedding planning is paying stuff off lol.

I'm getting married October 24, 2020! I have pretty much all of it done haha... I've already gotten my dress in, figured out what FH is wearing, booked florist, photographer (engagement shoot in April!!), food vendor, cake, officiant, we are not having a DJ but we've already figured out our song lists, I've made and have the decor for the reception, I've printed and sealed our invites, I've put together our favors and seating placements.... the only thing really left to do is to organize our rentals which will be done in April when I go down for the engagement shoot. It's been a time trying to find vendors in a completely different town than I live in! We are having a small mystical fantasy garden wedding at night. Potion bottles included Smiley laugh

Your wedding sounds really cool. I can’t wait to see your BAM! What are your colors??
It sounds like you are really on top of things! I can’t believe how much you already have done! I understand what you mean about planning from another city though, we did the same. We got married a little over an hour from where we live.

Our colors are navy blue, copper, and ivory. I'm pulling in some deep plums with the flowers though to darken it up a bit and some dried grasses for that "fall" feel. But, that being said it's more of an eclectic collection of stuff rather than following my strict color scheme haha.... I've made potion bottles, cast iron candlesticks, TONS of votive candles, garage sale hopping for glass water pitchers in all different colors, my cake is going to be super overgrown with flowers sitting on a stack of classical books for the cake stand. We are having cupcakes for everyone instead of cake though so it's small. To keep the eclectic feel I bought some silver serving trays (all different designs) to put out with the books and cake. We are both really nerdy so I made fantasy location signs (Mordor, Wonderland, etc) and have references to classic fairy tales throughout my invites and decorations.

We picked October because we both love Fall, October 8th is my late father's birthday and I always really wanted to have my wedding on his birthday so the 10th was the closest. Plus FH's Late grandfather's birthday is the 10th and they were very close.

We picked October because we both love the fall so much and with our outdoor ceremony I think the pictures will turn out beautiful. We would have gotten married last fall but for budget reasons we chose October 10th 2020. I feel like we're pretty far along. The only major things we have left are our cake tasting and setting up a registry and FH needs to make final decision on color for shirt, tie, and vest for the tuxes. Other than that we have to start ironing out the small details.

You are right, your photos will be beautiful! We also had an outdoor ceremony and reception and I love our photos!

Cake tasting was so fun. You guys will really enjoy that! What are your wedding colors? Is your FI looking for a tie and vest to match them?

Most of the big things are handled. I do need to nail down what FH will be wearing (we have settled on suits for him and his groomsmen, but we are looking at vest options to make FH stand out). I just ordered my tablecloths last night, and most of the remaining items are odds and ends.

I chose October 15,2020 because I’m big on numbers and so this date was a play on numbers and I feel like it’s far enough out there that I will have time to actually plan things, unlike the first time I got married
