October brides

Ti'Anna, on January 19, 2020 at 10:39 PM Posted in Planning 0 13
Hey my fellow October brides!!!! What time are you guys planning for your wedding ceremony ? Are you doing a first look? Taking pictures after?

I’m currently struggling with picking a time for my wedding on 10/10/2020. I really wasn’t feeling a first look and wanted to get pictures after but I know it gets darker earlier in the fall.
Looking for suggestions! TIA!

10/24/2020 bride! 🙋🏼‍♀️ Our ceremony is starting at 4pm. My fiancé doesn’t want to do a first look, and we are planning on taking photos after the ceremony during cocktail hour

How did you decide on the first look? What was the major aspect that drew y’all towards doing on?

My wedding was 10/5/19. Our ceremony started at 5:30. We did do a first look, so we started that, followed by more photos, at 4:00. Then we did more photos immediately following the ceremony while guests were at cocktail hour.

It took a little talking my fiancé into doing it with me. But after he read some articles on grooms reactions to first looks and how special and intimate they were we was all in. I’m a really nervous person and very introverted so having that moment where he sees me and it just be the two of us seemed really special. And our photographer was telling us how great they were and we would get more pictures of us together. We would also take all the family pics rights after the ceremony instead of all the pics so we would be able to spend more time with our guests because our reception isn’t very long. We have a lot of out of town guests so it will be nice to have more time with them then taking pictures by ourselves.

We are 10/16 which is a Friday, so our wedding will be at 5pm. Originally we weren’t doing a first look but FH changed his mind and wants to do one, which is working out in our favor to be honest. It will give us time to do pictures beforehand and have the majority of the pictures out of the way so we will have more time to actually be without guests. Our dj is doing our ceremony as well so he will just transition into reception mode after the ceremony, which if I’m timing it right by what I’ve gather from other weddings the reception will start around 5:45/6pm and we will still be able to get some pictures in after the ceremony as well.

I think we’ll still have time for pictures. Our ceremony won’t be very lengthy and the sunset is around 6:30/7 typically in October

10/4. Our photographer looked at historically when the sun sets on our date and it's 7:15. Our ceremony can start no earlier than 6 so we are wanting to start exactly at 6 end at 6:30 and take pics. We haven't been convinced to do a first look yet but we are doing bridal party pics before the ceremony.

10.10.20, our ceremony is at 4pm. Didn't want to do a first look, but since our ceremony and reception are in separate locations we are now doing 95% of our pictures before the ceremony. Time doesn't technically fall back till November so you should be ok.
