October Brides!

Brittany, on June 10, 2019 at 8:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 22
Hi October Brides, just wanted to say hi! Where are you in the planning process? I can't believe we only have four or so months left. Time is really flying by! We have most of our vendors booked, we just need to book our transportation. I'm also trying to find/buy all of the little stuff...like the guestbook/signs/favors/etc.

We’re waiting on a sample box for the groomsman cake. Have to book the flights for the honeymoon. I just finalized the thank you cards - there was a sale on Etsy and my shower is in a couple weeks. I think otherwise things won’t start ramping up again until after our tasting (July 9th)!

Our wedding is October 5th and the fact that we are less than 4 months away is giving me such anxiety lol. We have all of our vendors hired, contracts signed, & deposits paid. But now it’s all of the little stuff. We did already buy our invitations during a sale. So that is done. And we bought our card box tonight. But I still need to do my dress fittings and just buy all of the small stuff (cake stand, cake topper, signs, etc). We also still have to buy our wedding bands.

Weve done like everything out of order....
We bought our wedding bands this weekend.
We still need to put down the deposit on rentals, finish centerpieces, -make 2 more bridesmaids bouquets, make 4 more boutonnieres, pick out my jewelry, finalize what events we are and are not doing at reception, order our cake, order favors, get a guest book, etc. I feel like I'm drowning!

October 26th here! Honestly we have pretty much everything ready to go. The thought of putting things off until closer to the wedding stresses me out. Lol. I have to get my dress fitted and my wedding band resized, but other than that I’m working on my timeline, organizing all of the decorations, and preparing for final payments. My bridal shower and bachelorette party are both next month, so I’m really excited to be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy our last few months as an engaged couple! Plus my parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in August, so my sister (MOH) and I are also planning a big surprise party for them. With all of the big events going on and everything my parents are doing for us with the wedding, I want to be able to give them a special day too!

October 19th here! It’s coming up sooooo fast! I’m pretty much where you are. The big stuff is booked. I’m dealing with all the little details right now. Finalizing music, buying gifts, supplies, about to send out invites. Booking the big stuff was easy!

We need to book transportation as well, but I think everything else is booked. I just ordered thank you cards, and I'm down to DIY projects and small things like picking music, buying cake servers, and getting FH a wedding band (which sounds big, but he literally wants the plainest thing ever, so it should be quick).

October 20th here! All our venders are booked. Waiting to hear back about the church. We will hopefully decide on invites this weekend. FH still needs to figure out ring size so I can order his ring.

Honeymoon, men's tuxes, wedding bands, and decor buying/making. I should be having my food tasting in July and my brother create the invites in July to be printed. Then just paying the bills!

October 12th here! The big stuff is all booked! I still need to mail the invitations (July 15) and then get my dress altered, make the table cards, order the guest book, pick music, and make a shot list. Oh and ceremony music too! Our first couple's shower is July 20th, so the middle of July is when I have a feeling the rollercoaster will start to race downhill again haha!

Date twins! Can I ask why you are sending out your invites in July? I was planning on sending mine August 5th and due date be Sept 5th. I just want to make sure im not underestimating how much time I will need or how much time it will take he guests to RSVP. Is sending the invites out 6 weeks the norm? thanks!

Sure! So the typical range to send invitations is 6 weeks to three months (is my understanding). I had planned to send mine out at the end of July, but my FMIL is hosting a couple's shower for us July 20th and I didn't want to be addressing and mailing invitations at the same time as thank you cards! haha, so i made my deadline to mail them the 15th of July! My rsvp response deadline is as September 5th, but I am inviting 278 people and know that the venue has to have the final count by September 12th. So I figured that would give people a little extra time to get them in (and hopefully lower the amount of people I have to hunt down haha)

Oh and that is 2-3 months from the date of the wedding for mailing them out as a rule of thumb I have heard!

October 4th and I'm halfway freaking out and halfway completely calm Smiley smile I've got my thorough checklist and we're working through it slowly but surely! We've had a short engagement, so I'm feeling a little behind in some areas. This month we'll be ordering and sending invitations, getting engagement photos taken, and finding a place to get my dress altered! Best of luck to everyone!

Oh okay that makes sense! You have a considerable more amount of guests so I would definitely have done the same haha maybe I'll send mine out August 1st, but I'm glad we have the same due date. thanks again and Good Luck!

Hi all, October 19 here! What time are you putting on your invites? I’m in Portland, OR and sunset will be at 6:20 on that date. We’re going to do photos before the ceremony and the reception is at a different location, but we are really hoping to do it outside (weather permitting). Any help is appreciated!!
