october Brides... Honeymoon?

Kaitlin, on May 6, 2020 at 1:49 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 10
Hey ya’ll just wanted some insight on what my fellow fall brides are planning in regards to honeymoons?
I am thinking of booking ours for after our 10.03 wedding but i am a bit nervous to do so with so much unknown about Covid.
What is everyone else doing? Waiting or planning as normal for now? My close friend is a flight attendant and she just said to make sure to call and find out they’re policies to make sure we don’t lose all of the money we put into it.

We are waiting and are going to go on our 1 year wedding anniversary honeymoon combo to be on the safe side. It was also our plan before this while covid thing happened.

September here. We never ended up booking our honeymoon. We were about to when things hit the fan in the US. We plan to do our actual big honeymoon (Italy) as a 1 year anniversary trip. We are thinking of taking a shorter trip following the wedding, but we are waiting to book. We’ve got the funds saved up already so we are okay with booking something last-minute. But if things aren’t relatively safe by September we just won’t go anywhere.

We had to postpone our wedding until the end of September, due to schedules we can’t do our honeymoon until Christmas break.
Cruise lines have amazing deals right now and we got our 7 day carribean cruise for under 2,000

Girl I wish we knew lol. We originally thought of either Ireland/Scotland, or the Australia Zoo. I’m so glad we didn’t book a honeymoon with our original date, or we would’ve been dealing with that stress!

We are waiting to plan our honeymoon. But we were also going to do that before all the virus stuff hit anyways. I think if you want to do one, you will probably most likely be able to do one domestically at least.

I’m still planning everything as normal. We’re getting married Oct 24, and planning to stay at a cabin in the VA mountains the 24-26, just a short minimoon so I can get back to my students. We’re not flying so the only thing I’m really slightly concerned with is whether they’re taking normal reservations for the cabins. I’ve been meaning to call so this may be the motivation I need to set a reminder.

    I agree with your friend.

Also, try to pandemic-proof it if you can: Have a Plan B, be flexible, and don't make decisions until you *have* to!

I recommend waiting until next year, if you can. We had a vacation planned for September to go to the UK, and our airline (Air New Zealand) cancelled our flight altogether last week. Or if you can go somewhere where you can drive, do that. I just think things are too crazy right now with the airlines for them to really commit to any flights so far in the future.

Things are pretty much up in the air for us as well... We had postponed our wedding until the end of September but still got married on our original date this past April. We've had talks here and there about our options, which is either going on a shorter honeymoon after our September wedding, or doing a longer trip for our one-year anniversary next April. Waiting until next April is of course on the safer side, but we weren't able to have our honeymoon after we got married and kind of jumped into 'normal' life living together and working from home, so it'd be very hard to wait even longer for our special trip after everything. Ugh, such a tough decision, and I feel for all the brides in the same situation right now.
