October, 2019 Brides?

Right now it's picking my dress. I had one picked out but David's bridal discontinued it. We have the venue we want, just waiting to hear from his brother about renting it since he lives in the city, and you have to be a resident. I have the caterer lined up once we have the venue set. I've narrowed his ring down to two styles, and I have the guest list nearly set. I have in mind the bridesmaids dresses I want, just waiting to hear from them on what styles they like

It's a bit frustrating. I worry because they've had a rocky relationship over the years, but are both trying and giving and it's been great. It's the community center we met each other at back in 1985, so it's a sentimental choice...

Yay 5 months and 5 days left for us!!

We are a little early but just ordered our invitations last night! Can't let a 30% off coupon go to waste... I'm hand writing the calligraphy for the envelopes so I might get a head start on those soon for the people I know aren't moving (~150 invites is daunting...)

I've also been putting together my bridesmaids bouquets that I'm making out of sola wood flowers. So excited to get those completed and packed away!

I have a 20% off coupon for Lulu's so I will also be ordering the dresses for my bridesmaids soon! (Gotta love coupons haha).

FH's aunt works at a tux shop so we will probably stop by there this month or sometime in June just to get what the guys are wearing determined.

Next on the list to figure out - hair/make-up for the wedding day, booking a rehearsal dinner venue, final decision on videographer, DIY backdrop behind head table at reception, and asking others to be a part of the ceremony (musicians, readers, greeters, etc.).

And to top it all off...trying to buy a house!

Hola! Time is def flying I can’t believe it. We’re in the process of deciding on which invites. Everything is set just making my payments and hopefully all will be done. My food tasting is next week which I’m excited for. And then after that alterations 😓



Laura That sucks the dress was d/c but I’m sure there will be something that you love just as much.. and that’s awesome basically everything is planned out just have to confirm that venue.

Maria your rocking it and getting a house too with all the wedding craziness that’s greaT. Sounds like you’ve got everything on lock .

I'm late October and in a bit of a lull as well. We have all our vendors secured, I've bought my dress, shoes, and jewelry, our registry and website are done. My hair and makeup appointments and trials are scheduled. Our next big thing will be invites but those don't go out for almost 3 months, so I feel like I'm just sitting around waiting for something to do, lol. I'm going to purchase rings in a couple months.

I have started thinking more about our decor - saving ideas, making lists of what I'll need for the DIY projects. I've also started making a beauty timeline for when I'll want to start doing things like get facials, try out spray tans, start teeth whitening, etc.

Hola! I’m waiting to hear back from the dj and photographer. We need to figure out ring sizes so I can order FH ring. I still need under garments otherwise my wedding day wardrobe is complete. We have our tasting and decor meeting next month.

Yay! You have so much done Did you get your invites from Vistaprint? We are still deciding on where to get them/design, waiting for a good sale too of course! So awesome that you are doing your own calligraphy for it.. I took a class and have been meaning to practice, but not sure I'm up for the challenge haha.

We have almost all our vendors booked - venue, rental company, caterer, dj, hair/makeup, guest hotel rooms, coordinator, and photographer. We're close to signing a contract with an officiant, but after that I think we're pretty much just down to selecting transport and a honeymoon! ...and all my DIY projects haha. I'm making crepe paper flowers, which is going really well so far, but I still have a bit more to do. I legitimately can't believe it's down to almost 5 months!!!

I actually got them from Invitations By Dawn but did consider VistaPrint! They didn't have that many folded options which I wanted but I used them for our Save the Dates and they turned out awesome. I've just been repetitively practicing my calligraphy lettering with those practice books but I bet you are a pro after taking a class! I might have to look into that!

October 12th here! We have all of our vendors booked and just ordered our invitations. Now finalizing honeymoon plans and decor. I'm doing all of our flowers using sola wood flowers so lots of work to do there. It seems like this year is flying by so far!

Woot woot! October 19th for us!
I've been finalizing all the vendors. Had my first meeting was a florist and got kind of bummed out that an idea for our tables I thought would be more affordable turned out to be the exact opposite. 😑 I'm looking at a $400 dollar difference from what I was wanting to spend. So I'm trying to see if it'll be in the budget or not.
Have a hair and make up trial on the 7th. Wish I had an event to actually get dolled up for, but I don't, oh well. I know the trial is a bit early, but I want to be sure it's with a person I like and can do what I want. Not one to really wanna book and hope for the best! Lol
Only real issue I'm having is with my DJ/music. My officiant has his own well known company and offered his services at a discount. Saying he'd get back to me, well his father had a heart attack and stroke so he was unable to at that time and had said he'd get back to me Wednesday when he's back in state. So, it's a bit nerve racking as that's really the last "big vendor" I don't have a real solid anything from. My anxiety is up, but I'm also trying to be respectful with his father's health.

As far as invitations ours are in! Used Vistaprint for my STDs and Invitations. Saved over $100 with that 50% off sale on my invitations and rsvp cards.

October 26th here! We feel like we're in really good shape for everything considering the timeline. The vendors have all been booked for months. Our wedding will be back in LA where we both grew up so when we go out there, we try to be productive for several things at once. In July we're doing our venue tasting and details meeting, two cake tastings, and my hair and make up trial all in one weekend. We're currently working on planning the rehearsal dinner (finding a venue for this was almost harder than the wedding) but we've narrowed it down to a couple that are all close by and FFIL recently just confirmed that he would like to host... yay!

I'm also ordering small decor type items and parts of bridesmaid gifts as I find good deals. I'm trying to get all of the small stuff that I can out of the way now. We just booked our honeymoon and wedding night hotel last week and now I'm searching a lot on Etsy for guest book, card box, votives, etc.

We got two invitation samples so now we just need to decide which one and decide on the wording for it so we can order them. We also have favors picked out (custom label chocolate bars) so we are getting a sample and need to design the label for it.

Overall it's all coming together well and I can't believe we're less than six months out now!! Next week is the one year point since we got engaged and I can't believe how time is flying by.

I just picked out my dress on Sunday. My next things is picking out the invitations I like. So far I’m not finding any I’m in love with. We’re having a destination wedding, so for save the dates I mailed out postcards.

Venue, food, dress, rings, photographer, guest list, and colors/theme done and chosen. I guess it's just the details at this point and I need to fix my grandmother's wedding band.

Right now we are working on getting the Venue payed off, making the Decorations and we have to set up a tasting for the cake and food that we want. I still have to get a flower girl dress and the groomsmen still have to get their stuff and I still have to get somethings for my dress. It’s coming along very nicely

October 19th here!! Just secured my date, theme and venue. Looking for vendors for pretty much everything else .

Figuring out decorations, food, etc. for the bridal shower, looking for a house, and just counting down the days!

Also, needing to figure out our playlist for the DJ, and figure out a timeline for the wedding day.
