Observation while dress shopping

Samantha, on February 13, 2021 at 8:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
I’m 90% sure that my daughter is going to make my dress, but she and her sister convinced me to go “look” at dresses to make sure that I wanted that particular look.
I tried on a couple that were what I *thought* I wanted - simple lines, no lace, beading, etc. I was surprised that I didn’t like them AT ALL.
I’m very “plain” - I don’t like anything fussy. But my girls picked out a few and I humored them and wow! I never thought I would like lace, or tulle, or layers, or a mermaid style...but I did! So here I am rethinking the whole wedding look LOLSo get out of that comfort zone, you may be surprised!

Great point! Everything I have ever read about trying on bridal dresses is to try on things outside of your comfort zone. Also, that is amazing that your daughter is planning on making your dress. I have toyed with the idea of making my own dress, but don't know if it is feasible.

Same! The sales consultant picked a dress for me, and I only tried it on to be polite- didn’t think it was my style at all - and ended up not trying on another dress after because I loved it so much.

Same. I always dreamed about huge tulle overlay gowns. Until I tried so many and nothing works for me. I am a petite short. They all swallowed me. I look much shorter with puffy dress. I hated mermaid and thought sheath are too simple and boring. The sales lady gave me a few to try on, and believe me, I cringed looking at them in the dressing room at first. Until I tried one and whoa. I look taller and it complimented my figure.
