Nylons for bride: yes or no?

Lori, on November 11, 2019 at 8:52 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I just turned 52 yesterday and I get married in six days! My dress is ivory tea length. I have nude heels. I wasn’t planning to wear nylons but I live in the Midwest and we are getting some snow and colder temps this week.

All the pics I (seem to) see show no nylons on bride? What do you all think? And pls don’t say “whatever you are comfortable with” because I can go either way. My skin is very pale so I would get light nude nylons and try to make them look as invisible as possible. Thanks !!

If you're concerned with the weather, I would go ahead and wear them. In my personal experience, I've never seen a bride wear them, but I wouldn't think anything of it if one did.

I'm not a fan of the way nylons look or feel and I personally don't think they provide enough warmth to be worth it.

Thanks. You confirmed what I thought which is that brides don’t wear them. 😉

Personally I wouldn’t wear them. If your reception is inside you will be warm enough.

I would only wear them if you’re worried about being cold. I am also a pale person, so I get not wanting to look so pasty white. But you also don’t want your legs looking super tan compared to the rest of you! If you do choose to wear them, I would go with a higher quality brand which will feel and look much nicer.

While I’ve never heard of a bride wearing them, a coworker was completely appalled for my first marriage almost 15 years ago when I told her I wasn’t wearing them. She somehow thought my goodies would be seen if my dress came up.... to this day I have no idea what she was talking about but she asked me about it consistently. So I guess some people must wear them.

If you do plan to wear them, get toe-less ones, unless your shoes are full toes!
