nye Save the Dates

Kelsey, on November 28, 2018 at 9:49 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

My date is 12/31/20, and since it's a holiday, I'm trying to stay way ahead of the game. I know that for a date like that, STDs should be sent out sooner than "normal", but how far in advance should I send them? Trying to figure out when to have engagement pictures, etc. so I can get them done ASAP.

Thanks in advance!

I would go exactly 12 months in advance. I know people say that's too early, but I don't think it is for NYE. If you send them out in January 2020, they won't get mixed in with Christmas cards and people will be receiving them when the holidays calm down. I'd have a hotel block & your wedding website set up too.

I concur. Send them out 12 months in advance.

I agree, 12 months in advance! We went to a NYE wedding last year and got the STD about a year in advance (received in January, they got engaged on Christmas) with the date and hotel infomation so we were able to book our accommodations right away. It was the perfect amount of time to plan, in my opinion.

I also agree with 12 months! Can I just say I love the idea of a NYE wedding?! We rarely go out on NYE because any “event” is so expensive so a wedding seems like the perfect opportunity to go out, celebrate love, eat/drink & party with your favorite people. 🎉

Totally agree with this, Kelsey!! I'd send them out in January 2020 to avoid them getting mixed in with the Christmas cards! That should give your guests plenty of time Smiley smile

Thanks, everyone! I hadn't even considered the potential for the STD to get lost among Christmas cards....good point!

    Thanks!!
