nye 2021 Wedding

Hi everyone! I'd love your input because I'm really struggling here!

My fiance and I are getting married on a rooftop in Florida (dinner indoors/dance floor indoors and outdoors) on NYE 2021. There will be fireworks right on the river that we'll be able to watch from the rooftop/indoors. The accent colors of the venue are neutral beige, brick red, gray, and brown (wood floor).

Originally (before we picked our date and venue) we loved navy suits with champagne dresses and burgundy/evergreen accents. With a 7:30pm ceremony time and it being NYE I honestly think wedding guests would be more dressed up than the wedding party if we stick with this color scheme. I cannot for the life of me figure out what color suits the men should wear and what color the bridal party should wear.

I do NOT want it to be tacky (really not a fan of the Great Gatsby gold/black theme) and I do NOT want it to be to Christmasy so no bright reds or bright greens.

Thanks for any input Smiley smile

I don't think it's necessarily as much about the colors as about the style of the apparel. There are probably some really lovely champagne-colored dresses that have a more formal silhouette (more fitted, perhaps a satin fabric, maybe a slit, etc.) and/or have embellishments or accessories that would make them more formal/festive (rhinestones/sequins/glitter/high-end lace/etc.). Personally, I think black suits tend to convey a higher level of formality than navy, but there is again a continuum of style choices (e.g., tux vs. suit, type of shirt/tie/accessories, etc.) that can definitely convey the mood you're looking for within the color palette you like. Similarly, the choices you make for decor/linens/flowers can go a long way toward creating a more formal atmosphere. Sounds like it will be awesome -- good luck!

I agree that it's more about style than color. You can probably get away with keeping the guys navy if they wear tuxes instead of suits. Example: https://theblacktux.com/collection/tuxedos/midnight-blue-tuxedo

I feel like the difference between beige and champagne is shimmer, so as long as you choose a long dress with a simple silhouette, you should be fine. It would probably look more formal in a heavier or beaded fabric if you can find one you like. Burgundy would also work well, especially in satin, silk, or velvet.
Example: https://www.bhldn.com/products/logan-velvet-dress-dark-berry?via=z2lkoi8vdxjibi9xb3jryxjlyto6q2f0ywxvzzo6q2f0zwdvcnkvm0i4refemeu If you want to avoid things looking too Christmasy you might want to go with eucalyptus or something instead of evergreen. Champagne is a great wedding color because it's pretty neutral, so you can use a lot of it without it becoming overwhelming.
