nyc Marriage Proposal Ideas

Michael, on March 10, 2020 at 8:48 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hello everyone,

I am planning on asking my girlfriend to marry me in just a couple of weeks and I can use your help! Her and I are born and raised in the NY/NJ area and I'd like to propose in or around NYC. I was thinking of doing a sunset proposal on a rooftop with a skyline view. Although the weather isn't exactly warm, this could be a nice option since we wouldn't be near the water or in the park if it rains. There are so many options and ideas on the web, it's almost overwhelming when it comes to pricing and location options. Since we are both locals I prefer to stay away from doing a "Empire State building" or "Times Square" type of proposal. I'd like to do a rooftop but a location more pertaining to locals. I am so eager to make this moment truly memorable so I am seeking out for any location ideas, photographer recommendations, and go to websites that could help me out.

I've discovered a site called rooftopnyc proposals but the price and add ons for a photographer is way over 3k. Is that the going rate? Is there someone who can give me a better, more personalized style? Any tips are super helpful! Thank you!

You can do an evening helicopter ride. It has amazing views of the city and NJ. And have someone hold a sign asking her to marry you when you land or you can propose while in the helicopter. nyc Marriage Proposal Ideas 1
    Groupon has good deals.

Thank you Rebelle for the idea. She's not really into flying and I also plan on having a photographer take photos the entire time. I'm looking for something more or less on a rooftop or in a private area in / around the city.

Exciting! Do you have any friends with a good camera and/or great with an iPhone camera? I'd try to go that direction or maybe find a photography student in the area!

Unfortunately I don't have any friends with the photography skills that I trust for this moment. I think I'd rather go with the safe bet and have a pro capture it. I am more so struggling with the spot!

My good friend Michelle McCooe photography does phenomenal proposal shoots and we are in your area. She has an ig profile and a Facebook. Reasonably priced.
Press lounge on the west side has amazing views if you want to check it out. Good luck!!

Have you looked on airbnb? One that is in a high rise with access to a roof?

    There's always the High Line!

It's not a rooftop, but there's lots of coverage, and it is higher up - and plenty of little nooks and crannies for pretty pictures.

    Good luck!
