U-Haul hires at home people to do customer service and reservations. This time of year is super busy so they are hiring like crazy.

    Uhauljobs.com and search Corporate Jobs.

I work from home - I work for Apple. I manage a team of tech support advisors. Unfortunately, we seem to be a bit overstaffed at the moment, but we have great pay and benefits, so I'd keep an eye out on jobs.apple.com.

I work from home as a technical writer. But it's one of those things where you need to make it your career. Have a specialized degree. Fight for the remote positions. If it's something that interests you though, it can definitely pay well. Just takes time.

@OP my bestfriend/MOH worked from home for 3 years (she recently changed jobs), another friend of mine works from home, and my aunt works from home all for health insurance companies. Its not hard to get into, my aunt's type of position requires no experience or specific education. They require you work one year at the office and they you can opt to work from home. Maybe look into those and sacrifice that year, bc once you finish you can move almost anywhere in the U.S.

@FFW, do you know anything about the pay, I make really good money at my current job but they are literally trying to force me to quit. With a little one on the way, I would love to be able to stay home.

No help but be very very careful of applying to anything from sites like Craigslist. 90% of work from home jobs posted are a scam. Some will even interview you before giving you the job. Research everything before giving out personal info. A job were you need to cash a check or money order and then send money on is always a scam. Jobs where you receive merchandise and reship it are always a scam. They are usually marketed as a secret shopper/ shipper/ accounting clerk positions. Good luck!

What kind of job are you looking for and what's your background, Emma? One of my close friends works from home as a freelance graphic designer. It's worked out well with kids because she can take jobs as needed but she controls her own workload, so around births she just stopped taking jobs towards the end of her pregnancy.

Emma, are they trying to force you out because you're pregnant? That would be a big NO NO.

@emma can you get HR involved. That's discrimination. Look into Family Medical Leave Act too.

Most of the people I know who work from home are in IT. I've been thinking about this lately myself (but the IT thing wouldn't work for me - I'm a financial analyst - CPA who doesn't want to work in accounting and a real estate broker who doesn't want to do sales :p).

Tell HR your suspicions. Document it in an email. This will serve as protection.

As for work from home jobs, my cousin works full-time as a transcriptionist (closed captioning/subtitles) for tv. I hear that it's hard to make a living on (and I don't think she makes a ton of money) but if you're fast and accurate, you can make a living with it.

    Good luck!
