NWR: Tattoo behind my ear

Tori E., on September 14, 2010 at 10:37 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22

I have two tattoos already, one on my left hip its a heart with psalm 23:6 and then a butterfly on my left foot. I really want a small tattoo of a dog paw print. I know to some it sounds lame but my dog is my baby and been then everything with me. I have been thinking of all the places I could have it done and my best friend suggested behind my ear. Does anyone have a tat there, did it hurt a lot, did you regret getting it there? Right now my job won't care but when I become a teacher I can just wear my hair down all the time and I will have to cover my foot one anyway. Pictures are great too! Thanks

I have tattoos as well, but none behind my ear sorry - I would imagine that it would hurt A LOT though as it would be right on the bone and in a sensitive spot. What about instead of behind the ear you get it at the back of your neck. It still hurts (I was with a friend when she got a tattoo in that spot) but you can still cover it up with your hair so it won't be noticeable.

I'm studying to be a teacher as well- I have four tattoos right now (foot, right hip, upper back, and left thigh) and working on a HUGE one crawling up my left side from hip bone to breast.

My little sister got a small heart behind her ear. It is easy to cover up with your hair being down, but I definitely get tired of my hair and need to throw it in a pony- this is especially necessary with long hair and the little ones in classrooms too.

She said it hurt aaaa looottt.. but if it's small, it's quick and easy.

My thinking is, I am going to wait to get those more noticeable tats until AFTER I have gotten the job and made my place.

Nicole- i have one on my foot, a butterfly and it is right near my baby toe and it hurt but it was bearable. I was thinking that it might look cute on right ankle. I know the design i want i just can't figure out where to put it! ugh I'm sorry about your miscarriages.

Just something to think about...even though your hair can easily cover it now, what if you cut your hair when you get older? Most women do, and then you won't be able to cover it at all. Also, I was a teacher, and most of my schools didn't care about tats as long as they weren't inappropriate, so that may not be a huge concern.

I have a star behind my ear, and it didn't hurt at all..I also have one that goes half way up my calf, down to my ankle bone, it hurt a little bit, mostly by the ankle bone. And I have music notes on the top of my left foot, and I have 3 stars on my right foot by my toes, both didn't hurt at all..but I have a high tolerance for pain..lool.

I know i have been all over the place but i think i might do it on my left wrist(left handed)! I can always cover it with a bracelet or watch! now to save for it! I really want it!

I love the paw print idea, but my SIL has one there and she has had it for a while and it is faded and doesn't look right now. Also she hates it. It is very hard to cover. Just an FYI. But I am a huge dog lover so I think that is a great tattoo!

Any place close to your hand will fade a lot.. hand washing, sun exposure, and everything else.

how large of a paw print are you thinking?

I have 2 friends who did matching ones behind they ear and they said it freaking hurts. My feet were the most painful! They took 2.5 hours a piece and they're quite detailed. I almost kicked him in the face many times.

I want to see pics of everyones.. Smiley smile

    These are mine:

feet- a heart & a skull that kind of matches my dads on his arm

and right lower back- 1st pic is the outline and 2nd pic is it done. Its brighter, took that on my phone so it looks faded.

I LOVE my tattoo artist, I've been in the mood to get more lately, but IDK where I'd get it. They have to be covered in scrubs. FH wants me to get one on my side but I am a huge chicken.

Here is mine.. I don't regret it at all. I absolutely love this tattoo.. It didn't hurt either.. it took about a minute to do and it was by far the least painful tattoo I have!
