NWR: sprained ankle at Bach party :(

bridetobe, on February 10, 2016 at 9:22 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

Best way to treat a sprained ankle?? I twisted it at my bachelorette party (totally sober though!). This is when I'm really glad my bachelorette party was so much earlier than my wedding. The wedding is in 2 1/2 months and I need to be perfect by then! Plus we're going to Vegas for honeymoon so I will be walking a lot. I'm doing the wrap, ice, elevation, rest thing, but does anyone have any secrets???

They will just say rest, elevate, ice, compress. I sprained my other ankle a couple years ago

Oh no! I hope it feels better soon. I twisted my ankle while I was in Vegas on my first day once... my poor dad had to act as my crutches the entire weekend lol.

I found that following RICE helps (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). As your foot feels better start doing small exercises with it like pointing and flexing your foot.

So just rest, elevate, ice, compress and it'll be good in like a week.

Google heel drops, I sprained my ankle about six months before a big run (I could hardly walk) and it was about a month after I started doing heel drops that I was able to start running on the ankle again.

Thank you everyone!!! Last time it took months to heal, but I'm not sure how I sprained it, I was drunk in the city and fell... This one I just rolled it
