NWR: Ovarian cysts

Kristi, on September 12, 2016 at 12:03 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 42

Have any of you lovely ladies or gents FW had ovarian cysts? I have one on my left ovary (5.2 cm) . Other than abdominal and back pain i was dealing. Yesterday i started have bathroom issues, lightheaded , vomiting, and today a small bit of spotting. Today i can now feel the swelling on the aide of the cyst. Before i couldn't. I go to thr DR at 1:30 but until then I'm freaking out. Anyone else have these symptoms? Was it a rupture?

My trainer's twin sister had this last week. Hers ruptured shortly after these symptoms you mentioned got worse. Every case is different, but go see your doctor.

I'll probably show up a little early and hope for faster answers. After my first scan we were going to wait and scan in 3 months. Unless things got worse. They are definitely worse.

I get them all the time so my OBGYN put me on a continuous birth control and I haven't had one in a very long time. Luckily the worst symptom I had was a tight feeling on my ovary and sometimes I had to stay in a curled-up position or it felt like something was pulling.

I had an ovarian cyst that they had to do surgery to remove it due to the size of it. The only symptom I had was throbbing pain in that area.

Try to stay calm. I know that's easier said than done. I would go in early too if I were having these symptoms too. Hope everything is okay.

I have PCOS and dealt with a cyst the same size last year. Unless your symptoms get worse, or you have a fever, just stick with the 1:30 appointment. Also if it had ruptured I hear the pain is worse than childbirth so you would know. You wouldn't be able to breathe.

I've had numerous cysts that have required hospital stays and surgeries. My symptoms have always varied. My thoughts are with you today. Feel better soon!

I get them frequently. Definitely have your doctor check it out. You want to make sure it isn't swelling and pain isnt caused by a blockage. You also want to check for infection. I've had a few rupture, not fun but always have them checked

I used to get them all the time and they would burst and it was incredibly painful and I would be sick and vomiting for days. It sounds like it may have burst or is growing. I was put on birth control to see if it would stop when I was 21 and it worked really well. I am now off of BC and have been for a little more than a year and I don't get them anymore other than once.

I'm glad to hear you're going to the doctor. Good luck to you! It's not a fun thing to have Smiley sad

I actually have polycystic ovarian syndrome; do not delay! They can lance a cyst if need be, but letting it rupture can cause so much pain... If it hasn't already. But your appointment should be in plenty of time!

I suffered a ruptured cyst at 18. I've been in birth control since and haven't had a problem. Feel better!

I had the same symptoms at a young age shortly after I got my first period. The vomiting, upset stomach and fever was what sent me to the hospital. I found out I had two ovarian cysts, one is each ovary. It had not ruptured, but was close. I went into emergency surgery immediately but bounced back well. Don't worry but see a specialist as soon as possible. Best of luck!!

I had an ovarian cyst a few months ago and had back pain and severe vomiting which sent me to the hospital. I had it removed a week later and there was torsion found at that time. I've been fine ever since (knock on wood....).

I had one rupture when I was a teenager. I woke up one morning in the worst pain in my life (up until labor). Hang in there until your appointment. Do you have someone to drive you and be with you?

I just had mine removed on Friday, it was 8.5 cm. you're doing the right thing. The ultrasound may make you a bit crampy. Good luck and wishing you the best!
