NWR: Nervous Nelly, NCLEX

Shannon, on July 6, 2017 at 6:21 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 50

Oh my goodness, I've never been so nervous in my entire life. I took the NCLEX today, 75 questions in 45 minutes. The computer shut off and I about begged it for more. Keep your fingers crossed I passed. I know we have quite a few nurses on here, so I thought this would be a good place to share. Anyone try the Pearson Vue Trick? Also wanna share pics of your adorable animals to keep my mind occupied till tomorrow?

Update: YA GIRL IS AN RN

75 questions in 40 minutes right here and passed. I know you can fail with 75, but what are the odds that you really did that bad that it cut you off at 75? I bet you passed. I got my unofficial results in 48 hours. Drink some wine and relax. I bet you passed Smiley smile

I also thought the HESI exams (if you had to take those in nursing school) were much harder than the real NCLEX. I also took the Kaplan NCLEX prep and I thought those questions were also a little harder than the real thing. So if you survived those I think you are fine. I've always been told if you get a lot of select all that apply it's a good sign. I had like 13 (I kept track during my test lol).

I bet you passed. Mine cut off like that too and I remember crying all the way home! This was 16 years ago! Have a glass of wine, take a deep breath, and find something to distract you. I'm sure you did well!

I just passed mine 2 weeks ago with 77 questions! I didn't do the Pearson trick myself because I knew of a few people that it indicated they failed when they had actually passed so I didn't want the extra stress in my life. I don't know what state you're in, but in Illinois I was able to check results on the continental website at 4pm the following day. Best wishes!

Mine cut off at 75 but I felt good. I took the Kaplan prep and it was totally worth it. Did you have a good amount of select all that apply? *insert pups here*

After I took boards, we went and picked up our puppy! I also managed to find out on the drive to get her that I passed (a classmate had called the BON). So that was a pretty damn good day.

    Meet my ridiculous cats.

At least you find out tomorrow! So much better than the bar, test is at the end of July and you don't know whether you passed or not until mid/late October.

@kahlcara I sympathize with the bar woes! My husband took his in February and finally found out he passed in April. Tough wait! We nurses have it easy.

I paid for early unofficial results and got them within like 72 hours I think? Also check your board of nursing website, sometimes your license will be listed there before you get any results! If it makes you feel any better I passed in 75 questions lol. Update us when you hear- I'm sure you did it!

Mine was 75 questions in approximately 45 minutes too! I didn't hit next on my 75th question for a solid 5 minutes because I was so nervous if it would cut off or continue! Good luck!! I'm sure you passed! Welcome to nursing Smiley smile

Good luck, shannon!!! I'll be in your shoes in year!!

I heard that a trick to seeing if you passed is to try to reregister for the test... If it won't let you, you passed.

    Fingers crossed for you!!!
