NWR: Best hair straightener?

JustSayNguyen, on April 18, 2017 at 6:21 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

So my Chi which I love is starting to not work properly and not heat up as much as it used to and I can tell it's starting to damage my hair. I've had it forever so I'm happy it lasted so long but I need a new straightener and I might try a new one. For those of you who straighten your hair what is your favorite brand? For reference I have really thin hair and not a lot of it so it usually only takes me like 10 minutes to straighten lol.

@Svetlana any suggestions on good oil? Again I have thin hair which has a tendency to get oily so I don't want to overdo it

I use aquage's oil and you only need a dime size into your palms and work it through your hair.comb through then start. You may be able to do it with a round brush dryer from Remington too. If your hair is thin then you really don't want a ton of heat on it.

BabyLissPro Nano Titanium! I have thick, frizzy hair, and this is the only straightener that has successfully tamed my hair. My SIL has thin hair and uses it too. It's kinda pricey, but well worth it. It's lasted me several years with no loss in heat.

I am on my second Paul Mitchell hair straightener, and I absolutely love it. My first one lasted me like 10+ years. It finally died so I had to replace it. I also have thin, oily hair but I do have a lot of it.

Babyliss! I had a chi but it snapped in half after a few months because my hair is too thick.

SEDU is 1000 times better than chi in my option. I have very fine hair prone to breakage and my sedu causes minimal damage, way less than my old chi and it has better temperature control which is key in preventing damage. They are pricy but mine usually last at least 3 years, and I straighten my hair pretty much every day so for me its an investment.

I LOVE my HerStyler. I bought it for $25 four years ago and it still works perfect. I'll never use another brand.

When I used to straighten my hair, I used the InStyler. I have thick AF hair but I loved the extra volume I could get using it. But I stopped using it after straightening every single day took a toll on my hair so I just blow dry it (mostly) straight now. I use a Chi serum to protect my hair and love the heck out of it. If your old chi worked well why not get the same one or an upgraded version?

Chi and ghd are good. I also really like the Hot Tools flat iron I got when I was in beauty school. I've used it on pretty much every hair type and I've never had a problem with it. I actually found myself reaching for that one more than my Chi at work.

Also, no matter what kind you decide to go with always make sure you're using some type of heat protectant on your hair before straightening.

In my opinion, if I had to keep one brand it would be ghd for its quality and ironing finish. If you are looking to buy a hair iron this guide about the best iron flat will be of great help.
