NWR: All about work totes. What do you use?

I got mine as a gift so not sure of the cost but it's a Vera Wang bag from Kohl's. It does have a side sleeve that I use for my laptop but it's a really comfortable size and weight.

I have a black Adrienne Vittadini business bag that I carry for work. It has a laptop pocket, a couple small pockets on the inside, a front pocket and two side pockets. I found it at TJ Maxx. I carry it in addition to my purse. I like my work stuff separate from my personal stuff. I have to carry a badge for identification (I'm an investigator) and I don't like digging through my purse for it.

I used to carry goyard until it died on me lol. Moved to fendi and few other brands, finally admitted I needed a "rain-proof" bag since living in NYC does a lot of damage and just got myself a longchamp. The new line they have is actually neat! Super light, sturdy, easy to clean and price is somewhat reasonable.

Bookbag. But I don't have an office job lol

Teacher, and honestly I could never loose my Vera. I can't tell you how much I've spilled in it. This bag has been washed so many times and it still looks brand new. I often still get compliments on it!

I know the leather Vera bags are nice too, but I'd be leery of the ones with thinner straps. I've heard they can break.

I'm a computer tech so I use a Kate Spade messenger bag to fit my laptop and iPad in. I usually can't fit my lunch bag in there though or I have to squeeze it in.

I was going to suggest the Vera Bradley leather totes until I read what @BMG said (super disappointing).

My sister used a black Coach tote while she was in grad school.

I use a purple Longchamp bag. I needed a durable bag with a zipper since I commute on public transportation.

I have this MK tote, in a gorgeous blue I got on super sale at Macy's.

I get tons of compliments on it and it fits my Macbook Air, and all kinds of other stuff. I love that it zips. It's also amazing for travel!

Vera Bradley!

I got a big old tote from target. It's got short handles or a lot by strap which I like. I quit carrying a laptop, not I just carry my iPad and that made life a lot easier. I have a folio the iPad fits perfectly in which is wonderful!

I'm obsessed with dagne Dover! Their bags are a coated canvas with vegan leather and they are gorgeous! Plus they are all about the pockets and they have laptop pockets and even a clip in water bottle holder!

I have a Kate Spade tote that I use as my laptop bag and purse. It fits my laptop, wallet, and lunch.

LV Neverfull MM. You can put your whole life in it. I love mine.

I use a tote from the brand thirty-one. I love it! It has tons of pockets. This isn't mine, but Mine is very similar to this one.

I have a plain black Coach bag that looks really similar to the one posted by @Mallory. Luckily there is an amazing outlet store in my area so I got a $300+ bag for about $89. Score!

I have a leather tote bag from Tory Burch. It fits my laptop and files as well as other purse necessities. It's also very professional.

Thank you very much guys. This is very helpful. My only problem is that I need thick straps and something that isn't heavy. A lot of these bags that I've seen in stores have thinner straps and with my stuff in there, it's going to be very heavy. I used to have totes that I just loved and they never put pressure or weight on my shoulder/neck/back. But I haven't had any luck recently.
